FIREFLY YOU DREW ME TO YOU...
Caleb is a bit different from his cloud of fireflies. So much so his family just overlook him, dismissing his crazy antics thinking OH IT’S JUST CALEB. That doesn’t get him down in the slightest. Although it does make him a bit of an outsider.
Not too long ago, a small child, about 7 years old, caught Caleb and brought him home in a jar for just a few days before her parents make her let him go. The small child thought OOH FIREFLIES HOW MAGICAL. What she didn’t know was Caleb was equally bemused thinking OOH YES PEOPLE HOW MAGICAL. While he was caught in the jar, he spent the whole time thinking WOW PEOPLE have so much stuff. They have book and all these toys and what wow what are these big things they lay down in.
Caleb was absolutely fascinated by the people. When he was released he, with his nosey ways, followed the people around. When he saw kids trying to catch fireflies, he kept trying to be caught. The kids were successful - catching Caleb and then letting him go. They would catch Caleb, peek through their fingers waiting for him to light up and as soon as he did they would let him go. Caleb was amazed and obsessed with the kids. He was the one firefly that kept flitting hopefully around the kids heads endlessly teasing them to catch him.
Caleb is a nosey little firefly. He's super inquisitive and just loves observing. He is fascinated with the giant humans who have SO MUCH STUFF and live in these big box things - some made out of the trees he calls home. HOW DO THEY DO THAT and why do they have so much stuff? CALEB HAS TO KNOW. So careful, don't swat him away. He will buzz around your head. He does want you to catch him. Just let him go again, kay?
