Set your heart on fire

Name: Chinyere Okeke
Alias: Conga
Gender: Female
Age: Late 20's
Species: Chamrosh
While extremely similar to griffins and often mistaken as such, chamroshes are both have minor anatomical differences as well as different behavior in instinctive mannerism. Chamroshes behave more like canines, and a usually more physically active than griffins. The insides of a Chamrosh's beak are also lined with teeth. Unlike griffins and most other avians, chamroshes have a sense of smell.
Height: 3'6" (quad, at shoulder), 5'7" (human)
Location: Naswia, South Genobia

Personality
Conga has a sense of curiosity about her, she oftentimes explores the area around her home. She's an open minded individual, willing to offer a shoulder of comfort when she can. Due to circumstances however, she is the last anima many, if any, seek out for any sort of companionship. Because of this, she's considerably lonely, however nobody knows this about her. At times her emotions get the better of her, causing her to think illogically. She hides these flaws with cheerful or serious mannerism.

The chamrosh has grown to be quite independent, greatly believing in doing things herself rather than rely on others. While not untrusting of others in normal circumstances, she's usually prepared with a backup plan of some sort should things not go as intended.

Appearance
Conga's body is primarily tangerine colored, with the lower half of her face, throat, and top half of her chest being white. The otherwise continuous white onto her belly and hindlegs is broken up by an orange band going across her chest. She has a dark red, almost black mask marking over the midsection of her face, with this same color being the color of her wings, back, and tail. A rounded, upside down triangle covers her throat.

Her tail is fluffy and furled at the tip. She wears a single gold hoop earring in her left ear, and two in her right ear. Across her chest she wears a patterned sash, with pearls and ribbons draped down the sides. A matching band is on her left foreleg, and she wears two gold bangles around her right wrist.

Story
Nicknamed for her love of music and dance, Conga grew up in a rural tribe in South Genobia. She grew up in a close-knit tribe in Naswia, where nearly everyone knew each other by name. Whenever there was a celebration, Conga was there to steal the spotlight. Whether it be for dancing or for playing the instrument she was named after, Conga never fell short of being a source of entertainment for the village. She grew up knowing this simple and easy life, and never pondered for long on how she would live otherwise. While she learned to appreciate her simple life, this didn't stop her from dreaming big.

As a chick, Conga aspired to be an artist. Whenever she wasn't participating in celebrations or helping to take care of younger anima in the clan, Conga would spend her time painting. Urban luxuries such as technology or digital entertainment were not an option for her, so she kept herself occupied with paints and brushes her parents made for her. As Conga grew older, she would attempt to sell her artwork, although she didn't have much success as far as any sort of profit. This didn't stop her passion though; at times she dreamed of someday moving from her village to a big city in North Genobia. Like any artist, she would at times become frustrated with herself. It was this frustration that lead to her life flushing quickly into a downward spiral.

The slightest bit of magic was seen as a bad omen; witches were well known for being manipulative of both their environment and surrounding anima, wanting to control things for their own interest. These rumors and superstitions grew in more rural areas, with folktales being the voice of reason. It had been several decades since a witch or warlock had been discovered anywhere in Naswia. Nobody had expected history to repeat itself.

It was during a bout of frustration that Conga changed her life forever, for the worst. During a typical "artist's fit" of ripping up one of her paintings, her rage literally ignited. Several of her works of art spontaneously combusted, much to the horror of her father who had been attempting to calm her down at the moment. In a panic her father fled the house, unfortunately all too familiar with what he had witnessed. The blazes his daughter had created were a horrific reminder of what he had endured as a child; the same pyrokenetic abilities his father possessed. Although Conga's father has no such abilities himself, he knew at that moment that his daughter had inherited her grandfather's magic; she was a witch.

Conga had been feared the moment word had spread of her magic ability. Any affiliation she had with any friends or family had been severed within a matter of days. Her life being stripped away from her caused a brief but deadly bout of destruction, resulting in her own home being incinerated. It was at that moment that any remaining strands of her life as she knew it came to an abrupt halt. She had become a local legend; nearly all the anima in neighboring towns and villages talk about in fear and blame for mysterious and unfortunate incidents from that moment out. This fear and misunderstanding drove Conga out of the village she grew up in, forcing her to live in isolation.

Conga manages to live considerably well on her own, however it's no easy task. She has to go through considerable lengths to live a normal life, which include having to hunt for food, and flying many miles to find water. Despite her difficult means to live, she rarely if ever uses her magic. Even with her hardships, she still keeps up with her passions of dancing, music, and painting. Her small cottage is decorated with lots of her own paintings, with drums of varying sizes also scattered about. She deeply reflects on the dreams she had when she was younger, and now sees them as perhaps her only window to someday living the life she once wished for.
