About
Donia means "bitter" or "dark." Donia was once mortal, until she was chosen (by Keenan) to undergo the trial to become the Summer Queen, a trial she failed. She became a winter girl, someone bound to carry the harsh of winter's chill until the next mortal willing to risk the trial came along. When the real Summer Queen came along, 50 years later, she was given the challenge of becoming the Winter Queen. Donia was already used to carrying the painful cold, so becoming the Winter Queen was natural for her. She no longer was pained by the chill but comforted, as she was now a regent. Her closest friend is her Rowan guard named Evan, and she is very fond of Sasha, her pet wolf that was given to her by Keenan.
