I spoke with an old trucker in a shabby bar yesterday. He said I should keep some sort of ''Road Trip log'' so I could remember where I went ... Sounds a little too much like a diary to me. Still, I decided to give the thing a shot. It's not like I have much to do anyway. Could be a good way to keep me entertained ...

February 12th 1979, Mesquite, TX

Stopped in that town to watch a rodeo. Ended up been funnier than I though. There is something exquisite in watching idiots trying to stay on a raging bull for 8 seconds. Rodriguez accidently made a drunk guy spill his beer all over the old lady that was standing beside him. I never though a 80 years old lady could be that violent. It was definitively worth a stop.

February 27th 1979, some highway in the middle of nowhere, AZ

I somehow ended up loosing my map. I've been driving for 4 hours straight and I got no idea where I'm going or where I am. For all I know, the next town could be 60 miles away. And to add to my luck, it's raining. This is great, really. I knew taking that country road was a bad idea ...

It's almost 11pm now. Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven is playing on the radio. Such a masterpiece. It really fits the mood too. Rodriguez is already sleeping on the bed. Guess I'll be joining him.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven ...

My map was under the driver's seat. Got no idea how it got there. Time to figure out where I am now ...

March 3rd 1979, Phoenix, AZ

Went to see an hockey game. It's really weird to watch people ice skating when it's 80 degrees outside. Guess I understand why hockey isn't popular around here ... (And the Coyotes lost 5-3)

March 30th 1979, Las Vegas, NV

Went to the Grand Canyon for the third time. Spend a week in Vegas. Nothing worth mentioning happened, except that finding an hotel that didn't mind Rodriguez was a real pain... I'll be leaving for God knows where tomorrow. I'm tired of all the snobbish people around here ...
