Hepburn has a minion!

Neighbor the Raccoon

Hepburn twitched suddenly, waking from an unknown dream. Her sudden movement further tangled her legs in the blanket.
Letting out a squeak, she wrestles against the bright teal cocoon until she frees all four limbs.
The morning light hasn't quite yet climbed the hills to light up her sun room, so she knows it's too early to wake up her owner.
Instead, she stands next to her small bed, legs still unsteady from sleepiness. She walks over to the open window and leaps on to the window sill, breathing in the dewy night air. The lingering humidity reminds her that the days are long and warm.
The back yard is beginning to come to life; rustling in the bushes and chatter in the trees increasing in volume.
Just off to the right of the window, a small animal appears, startling Hepburn.
The animal, a young terraccoon, chitters a quiet apology.
Hepburn blinks slowly at her new companion and jumps down from her perch, the sound of her hooves hitting the rocks startling the terraccoon. They look at one another and lay down in unison.
For a moment, neither of them move a muscle.
Suddenly, Hepburn noticed the visitor wiggling her butt, slowly raising her body off the ground.
She stops.
She explodes towards Hepburn, the sudden charge causing her to jump backwards, and runs around her towards the lawn.
The antlephore regains her balance and gives chase. Her legs nearly the length of her target, she gains on her very quickly and when she does, she leaps over the terraccoon and spins around, nose to nose with the small animal.
She huffs playfully, standing up tall and stomping her front feet down, attempting to get her new friend to play.
The terraccoon scrunches up her face and lays down, closing her eyes. Hepburn does the same, jumping slightly when she feels her friend climb on her back, but relaxes moments later.
The terraccoon kneads softly on the antlephore's back, purring quietly. This makes Hepburn even more comfortable, and she succumbs to sleep.
"Hepburn!"
The voice of her owner pulls her back to consciousness. She stands up, momentarily forgetting about her friend until she sees her in the bushes.
She slow blinks at her friend, who is waving at her from the yard's edge, knowing this means they will meet again.
Hepburn returns to her window, leaping in and then runs to her owner.
The sleek, beautiful woman standing by the counter smiles at her lovely Hepburn, kneeling down and extending her arms.
Hepburn trots over to her owner and jumps into her arms, her short tail and ears flicking in excitement.
The woman runs her fingers through Hepburn's fur, cradling her like an infant.
"Did you sleep well, my love?"
She sets her down on the floor and sits in her chair, sipping coffee from her mug adorned with an image of Audrey Hepburn.
"What were you up to this morning?" She smiles down at her, waiting for an answer she knows she will never hear.
Hepburn wiggles her butt like the terraccoon did earlier. This causes her owner to laugh.
Then she pounces at her owner's feet, inciting a playful shriek.
"You silly thing! You scared me!" Her owner giggles for a moment and stands up from her chair.
"I love you, my little Hepburn. Come on, let's get ready for the day."
