Once there was a beautiful garden. In this garden lived plants of all shapes and sizes. The plants enjoyed the sunshine, rain and each other's company. Everything was sweet and beautiful. It was tranquil, that is, until the ice came.

One day a large cloud appeared like a bolt from the blue and a harsh, frigid wind began blowing throughout the area. Even the toughest plants began to shiver from this unexpected weather change. Suddenly, a woman covered completely in white appeared, riding on top of a white cloud and holding a staff made of ice.

She roared, "Now everything shall come to an end! Everyone will bow to me, the Ice Queen, and the world will be covered in ice!"

With these words, the Ice Queen stomped her staff on the ground, and snow and ice began to rush across it. Any plant who came into contact with the snow and ice quickly froze. Some plants tried to fight the spell but eventually succumbed anyway. The sight of even their strongest members falling to the Ice Queen's terrible influence made many of the plants feel all hope was lost. Any plants in the path of the ice simply bowed and let the ice consume them. All except one.

Iason_Mink was a common Aeanoid who recently had been born in the garden, and she was horrified and angered as she saw the destruction around her. Unlike the other plants who desperately tried to run from the ice, Iason_Mink rushed head on into the icy storm. With extremely cold frost lashing at her roots, Iason noticed an innocent Lambstalk who had fallen and was about to be overtaken by the ice. She bravely pushed the lambstalk out of the way just as the ice reached them. Iason_Mink struggled as the ice tried to overtake her body.

Despite the awful numbing feeling, she courageously shouted, "I..won't..let...you do this!!"

The Ice Queen heard the strong words and turned to face her challenger. She gave a smug grin at the sight of Iason_Mink struggling.

"You?" the Ice Queen mocked. "A simple Aeanoid like you dares to stand up to me??"

"Yes, I will!" cried Iason. "I won't let you destroy the beauty of this world with your cold selfishness!"

To the surprise of the Ice Queen, Iason_Mink's will seemed to be stronger than the the icy spell. This turn of events made the Queen very angry.

"What! No being can resist my power!" she boomed.

Determined, Iason rushed forward in an attempt to grab the frozen staff held by the ice queen. However, the queen was too high up for the aeanoid to reach. So Iason grabbed some nearby rocks and began to throw them at the staff in order to knock it out of the queen's hand. The queen did not appreciate such an action.

The queen boomed, "You, little plant, will pay a high price for your foolishness!" The Ice Queen then twirled her staff and chanted, "Chills of winds and spirits of snow, freeze this Aeanoid forever more!"

She pointed her staff at Iason_Mink and yelled. An icy blast more powerful than the original storm lunged at Iason_Mink, and she was unable to get away. The icy blast not only froze her but shriveled her up into a white vine.

As the Ice Queen laughed at the defeat of her rival, she was startled by a bright light in the sky. She became even more startled to see Shinwa, the famed Subetan goddess, burst out of the light.

"You...can't leave your home without becoming powerless!" stuttered the Ice Queen.

"Not this time," replied Shinwa.

Shinwa grimaced, conjured up a powerful light spell and directed it at the Ice Queen. The Ice Queen screamed as the spell hit her and was destroyed instantly. When the Ice Queen died, her spell dissipated as well, and the valley returned to its original green state. All the plants covered by the ice recovered as well and were as good as ever. But if you had looked at the spot where the white vine that had once been an Aeanoid rested, you would have seen that it was now gone...

Iason_Mink opened her eyes and saw the most beautiful windows she'd ever seen in her life. She glanced around and saw that the room she was in looked elegant and comfortable.

"Ah, so you are awake."

Iason_Mink turned to see Shinwa facing her.

"Who are you?" asked the Aeanoid.

"I am Shinwa, goddess of Subeta." replied Shinwa. "As for your name, I already know what it is."

"I...don't understand..." Iason said.

"Have you looked at yourself?" asked the goddess.

Iason looked down and gasped, for now her body was as white as snow!

"What..." she cried and fearfully looked at Shinwa.

"After the ice queen attacked you, I defeated her. But then I found out from your fellow plants that you had previously attempted to stand up to her. I gathered your frozen form and brought you to my temple. It took a lot of work, but I was able to restore you into a new form."

"A...new form?" asked Iason_Mink.

Shinwa nodded. "You are now a glacier aeanoid, given the power to restore life in the same way I restored you. And you will not be alone in this task..." The goddess smiled as she placed her hand in a bag and pulled something out. "Do you recognize this minion?" she asked.

Iason_Mink shook her head.

Shinwa then asked, "Is it true that you saved a lambstalk from the Ice Queen's attack?"

Iason_Mink nodded to this question.

"This Preod seems to recognize you."

Iason_Mink locked eyes with the preod and suddenly remembered.

Shinwa replied, "The lambstalk you protected still suffered some damage from the ice spell cast in the garden. Like you, I reshaped her into a new form. This preod will be your companion throughout your journey to protect and restore life throughout Subeta."

Iason_Mink accepted her new destiny and now spends her time using her powers to heal plant life all over the world. Sometimes when Iason_Mink uses her power on a plant, the affected plant turns into a winter minion. The newly born minion would then join Iason_Mink on her mission. Every so often, Iason_Mink visits Shinwa at her temple and recounts that fateful day.
