Rambling notes for me

Lives an underground lifestyle and grew up in the slums (became street-wise early on and learned to deal with all manner of people to survive.) Parents died when she was young, has an older brother, grew apart as they got older, he became a legendary assassin, comes to her occasionally for weapons and armor. A world with a fair bit of "magic" left in it and she is able to imbue special properties into her weapons. Mostly works on the "black" market (a gathering that occurs once a week in different locations where you can buy all manner of things and hire people to do any job you need), but all types will come to her for commissions as she's very good at what she does.

It's a rough lifestyle, but people in general are not discontented with the way things are (no extreme rebellion sentiments or anything like that.) Slums might not be the best description, but maybe more medieval in feeling. Just that people have to work harder and there's no modern technology/conveniences in this time period. She makes a fairly good living with her business, just doesn't exactly fit in with the "normal" society because of what she does (not exactly a reputable job and she has to deal with all types of people, not all who are exactly respectable members of society.) Travels the land to bring her wares/work to other cities, where there is always a market to set up at. These "black" markets aren't really illegal or anything, but just a different sort from the other, more typical market for food, clothing, livestock, etc. It is a tough place with pickpockets and a generally rough crowd, so most people only venture there when they are in need of an assassin or bodyguard or more seedy/dangerous wares (it's the place to obtain certain illegal items if you know how to find who's selling it.) There's magic in the land that can be directed and harnessed to some extent for use, but no real wizards or people who can create spells and things. She often uses this to give her armor special protective qualities or extra abilities to enhance her weapons (not everyone has this skill.)
