story

Ivy is a common Earth spirit whom proclaims herself a goddess when she's in the mortal world. In the past, as a juvenile, she played the tyrannical sovereign to the native people of a small, lush island. In return for their loyalty, their crops never failed and their harvests were always bountiful. For the right offering, she would grant them medicinal plants and even grow trees for their homes that could withstand any storm.

A young spirit can only last so long in the human world, however, before she must return to the spirit world to regain her strength.

Ivy departed for her native plane after giving the command that the islanders would build great monuments and temples in her name. If, when she returned, she was satisfied with their work, she promised that their descendents would want for nothing.

Years passed with barely any notice from the spirit. In the mortal world it would be millennia before her power was truly restored and the right host presented itself for her return.

When it finally did, the world was not as Ivy had expected it to be- the only great monuments stood in the name of men and where there once was a huge forest with a canopy so dense it blocked out the sun, now only stood hideous structures of concrete and steel. The trees she had grown purely from her own energy were gone and no one knew her name. These people; these invaders had destroyed the world she knew...

And they would pay.
