Some say the Vanor used to be human, but the truth is that nobody really knows. Nobody in the land is aged enough to tell the tale and when others arrived, they had already been living in the forest for centuries. Of course the Vanor have their own lore that has been passed down through their kind, telling the truth of how their kind came to be, but none will tell anyone outside of their race.

Hunters from Valekai often run into the Vanor, most seeing them as part of the flora and fauna that surround them, but some venture into the forest for the specific reason of catching one or two for trade. Vanor are near impossible to track, and even if sighted are quick on their feet and even faster when climbing through the treetops. It is no surprise that only three in the history of GarÑ‘ have ever been seen in the market-place of Rekai up for trade. Humans are far too slow to accomplish the task and often seek outside help from other races. Rogue Maldecti have been known to offer their tracking skills for a price. Though their skills are far superior to humans, they are still somewhat useless in the foreign terrain of Banes Forest.
