Ouch the Bitten Pie Minion

Kanayne pushed open the door of her bakery with a hard shove, sending it flying on its hinges to hit the wall with a slam. The young woman barged in after it and let out a loud noise of frustration as she walked inside the safety of her shop. It was a Monday, which meant the bakery was closed, but Kana felt best when she was there, and right now she desperately needed to let out some of her hurt and anger by breaking out the mixer and making herself some pie.

She headed straight back into the kitchen, simultaneously putting on her apron and getting out the ingredients so as to waste no time. She needed to start pounding some dough or she'd probably end up pounding something else. Anger and frustration radiated out of her in waves, and as she began making the crust for a pie, Kana started to mumble to herself.

"That jerk, bailing on me again! And not even sorry!" Once she started, her anger grew. "Using me, lying to me, ignoring me." With every word, she pushed down hard on her rolling pin, spreading out a perfect crust, until she had it just the way she wanted it. She threw the pin out of her hands and slapped the crust into her pie mold. From there, she moved onto the filling, still mumbling to herself about the way her now-ex-boyfriend had mistreated her again. Her seething mixed in with her pain to create this boiling mass of confusing emotion that was reflected in the crazy concoction she was making. There were sweet berries, tart lemon, various spices, and different sugars being tossed into the mix. Later she'd put on a lattice top, or maybe leave it open, she didn't know yet. She had no plan for this pie whatsoever; instead, she grabbed the items she felt, and hoped for the best.This is what she always did whenever she felt any strong emotion at all: she baked. One time, after waking up happily to a gorgeous morning, she created a "Beautiful Day" pie. Another pie was made after a long day spent with her best friend, Closer; that one was called the "Shared Secrets" pie. She even had another pie inspired by the guy she just broke up with; she called that one the "Crappy Boyfriend" pie, and she should have dropped him as soon as he first made her mad enough to create it. But now it was over, and as she put the new pie in the oven, she reflected on the past months. As the pie got hotter, so did she, burning up at all the memories of mistreatment. How could she have lasted that long?

The timer went off to alert Kana to the fact that the pie was done baking. She set it to cool on a rack, inhaling the delicious smells with delight. That scent alone was enough to get her thinking happier thoughts, and she realized that good had come with the bad. During the past months, Kana came to rely on Closer and her other friend and fellow shop employee, Ben. They had bonded a lot because of this, and Kana couldn't imagine life without them now. She knew that her old boyfriend was worse off without her, and didn't have the comfort of close friends or a successful business to help him. In that way, she won.Kana took another big whiff of the heavenly aroma filling the shop. This pie was going to be her biggest hit yet, she knew. This pie would make all the pain and heartache worth it. But she was beyond caring about him already. She had what she needed: great friends, a great shop, and a truly great pie. Now she just needed to name it.Kanayne went over to the chalkboard announcing the daily specials.

"Now serving," she wrote, "Sweet Revenge."
