Kilian is a young thief and member of the thieves guild in Havens Port.

Kilians mother was murdered in front of him when he was a young boy of 4 years. His older brother (7 years old at that time) also should have died but somehow were able to run away and hide.

An old hunter found them and decided to take care of the two boys.
The hunter tries to find out about the parents of the two, but is told that both are dead, killed by bandits. He does not know that the information is a lie and that their father still lives (but their father was told, that his wife and children were murdered)
The hunter decides to take care to take care for the two boys and to keep them away from Havens Port. He teaches them how to hunt and to use traps to catch prey.

With about 13 years Kilian decides to leave the hunter and his brother. He only leaves a short letter, were he explains that he needs to lead a different live. So he goes off to Havens Port in hope to find a more interesting live for himself.
Kilian realizes, that live in Havens Port is hard and unfair. People distrust him and try to use him for their cause. Naive like he is he loses his little belongings to some rowdys.

He has to beg and steal for food. Something he does not enjoy at first but he finds out that he is good at it. Also the leader of the thieves guild recognizes this and decides to consign Kilian into his care.
