Swift the Floef

"Good Morning, little one.." The voice was quiet and gentle, it lulled the small popoko gently out of her sleep. The first thing she remembered was waking.. Feeling the sun warm against her face, the gentle breeze keeping her pleasantly cool and the soft cushion of the lotus petals that were her bedding. The woman who gazed down upon her had a kind face, sunshine hair and the strangest scattering of marks across her nose, it was Emma.

A soft yawn parted the popoko's lips, it was accompanied by a slight and quiet squeak that made Emma giggle. Emma had a lovely smile, it crinkled her eyes and wiggled her nose and the small popoko mimicked the expression with another soft squeak. "Would you like to help me today?" Emma asked, and the popoko tilted her head curiously before nodding. She found a perch upon Emma's shoulder as the woman stood and made her way through the glade.

From the woman's shoulder the popoko watched as she greeted strangers entering accompanied by other creatures and carrying with them large, ornate pitchers. Quite the curious sight it was to watch as the strangers stooped down to the trickling waters, collecting it into their containers and then pouring it over the heads of their animal companions. Before the popoko's eyes a magical transformation occurred as the water brought forth the scattered flora that blossomed easily from the watered fur of the creatures until the pairs left, a little bit of the glade gone with them.

"Aren't they beautiful little one? They come to take just a hint of this place with them.. they can't all call it home like you can, little Lofty." Lofty glanced back up at Emma as she was addressed, the popoko nodding her head gently in understanding. The glade had always been Lofty's home, since she was young the creatures that called the glade home had looked after her for she was the smallest among them. Unlike most of those dwelling in the glade, she was not completely changed herself - the glade's affects shown only slightly, the scattering of small flowers here and there against her soft blue coat.

The hour of visiting came and gone as quickly as it did everyday and as the last pair of stragglers made their departure Emma scooped Lofty off her shoulder and set the popoko down upon a large boulder. "I'm counting on you to keep the flowers.. Can you do that for me little one?" She asked and Lofty nodded her head enthusiastically. "Good... good." She whispered, handing the small popoko a few small seeds. She watched Emma depart until the woman was out of sight, then carefully hopped down and with great care, planted the new seeds.
