Milly hangs her head down closing her eyes. Sighing, she gently presses her index fingers into her temple and softly massages small circles. The early morning sun is shining brightly for a brisk, spring Sunday. Taking a deep breath, Milly opens her eyes and looks out over the park from her usual spot on the park bench under the weeping willow tree.

Slowly rises to her feet, she brushes down the front of her skirt smoothing it back into place before strolling towards the footpath. Rounding the corner close to the children’s playground Milly reminisces about her Sunday morning ritual.

It began six years ago on a similar spring morning. She had commenced her first year reading English Literature at Subeta College just a few weeks earlier. Bright and early at 8am every Sunday morning she would make her way to Centropolis Park and walk around the perimeter. Then, after taking half an hour to gather her thoughts and relax under the willow tree, she would take one further leisurely stroll around the park. After her walk, Milly would pop into Get Mugged for one of Jade’s speciality Flower Lattes and biscotti. For six years she dedicatedly made the journey to the park at 8am every Sunday morning, even after moving to nearby Veta Lake two years ago. She couldn't not. He would come back to her and he would know to come to the Park to find her.

This Sunday morning marked the fifth anniversary of meeting Thomas. Some might call it cliche, Milly called it fate. During her second lap around the park, very close to finishing in fact, Milly was struck by a football knocking her flat on her back. A handsome young man approached her cautiously whilst apologising profusely. For Milly looking up into large, hazel eyes, it was like all those cheesy romance novels - butterflies in stomach love at first sight. Thomas was it for Milly and she knew it from that moment.

Milly and Thomas’ path has not been smooth. The heavens have not been smiling kindly on their love as Thomas was taken away from her over three years ago. So, Milly continues her weekly ritual, heartbroken, while holding on to her faith for dear life that he will come back to her.
