It was raining something unpleasant, and Prefect Fath was displeased. The World Brain was acting up again, and the townfolk were starting to grow fuzzy stuff. This wouldn't do.

The Yuuzhan Vong had taken this world, and sought to purify it. An ugly grey world, filled with metal and concrete spires, it was rapidly changing. With their world-shaping powers the Yuuzhan Vong had caused the rain to fall and wild, sprawling jungles to spring up around the planet. Wild beasts of all manners grazed and hunted in the ruins of buildings, and leviathians filled its seas, made clean and pure again by the little microscopic helpers of Yun-Ne'Shel. Coruscant's single moon had been torn apart to form a magnificent rainbow bridge. The gaudy electric lights of Coruscant had been snuffed out, replaced by the glittering heart of the galaxy - billions of stars scattered across the deep blue of the night sky. The Senatorial District, once home to politicians from many worlds, was transformed into a new Capital - the seat of the Supreme Overlord.

In this new capital, Prefect Fath had moved in with his family. His quarters, which resembled the interior of a seashell, were adjacent the world brain. In a pod-shaped wardrobe he kept his spare robe of office, and the dining hall was always filled with delicious things to eat, hooked directly to a nutrient feed. A fruit orchard was planted outside, tended by robecloth-clad workers. A pool with a fountain in the shape of Yun-Harla bubbled peacefully. But there was hardly time to enjoy his new home.

Prefect Fath had to deal with business first - meeting with the master shapers, the other prefects, and of course, Lord Shimrra. He didn't look forward to that.
