My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

On June 13th 1965, Major Pollack Antonov and his tin can dissapeared in the silence of space. Somehow, his life didn't end there. This is the story of what happened after. This is the story of the inexistent Preon.



He didn't know how long he had been roaming space. He would say ''Months'', but time was a relative measurement that had absolutely no meaning now that he wasn't on Earth anymore. When putting things in perspective, most of his bearings didn't make sense anymore. Time, distance, speed... It was all relative to a single planet, in a single system in a single galaxy.

He felt so small, so fractional in this enormous universe. He had been roaming without a goal for what seemed like an eternity and had yet to find or even see anything at all. He had tried to follow one of the numerous light that cloaked the sky, but he never seemed to get any closer. He was a former astronaut, he knew better then to believe he could actually get to the light. But then again, he never imagined he could actually become a lizard-like creature roaming space.

He knew he got out of the solar system soon after he took this form. Relatively, he would say that he was moving quite fast. But then again, what seemed fast to him could very well be slow compared to the vastness of the universe.

Out in the distance, a delicate sound stopped Pollack in his track. Sound can't travel in space. But the sound repeated itself. A nail falling on a metallic surface. A drop of water in a sink during the dead hours of the night. A single a major in an empty concert hall. He had followed lights for so long, maybe it was time to follow sounds.



''Hello.''

The voice was close. Pollack stopped and looked around. He was alone. And he knew very well that it was absolutely impossible that someone or something could be using English here. The sound had to be the result of his sense-starved mind, there was no way it could be real.

The delicate sound had stopped. He wondered if it wasn't all just an hallucination. All of this, roaming space, the lights, the sounds ... It all seemed surreal. It all seemed impossible.

''You really think this is an illusion?''

The voice was even closer then before. It was very clear, yet he couldn't describe it. It sounded generic. Like every other voices he had heard during his time on earth. He looked up, and down. Or what seemed like up and down to him. Still nothing. Still no one.

''You see but you do not observe. You hear but you do not listen.''

He tried to focus, tried to locate the voice in the emptiness that surrounded him.

Story notes

- Will be a space creature Pollack encounter
- Egocentric, snob, highly intelligent. Usually comes of as rude. Thinks he's better then everyone.
- Is very old. Billions of years old. He states that he ''isn't really affected by time cause time is relative.''
- Wants to understand the Universe. The Universe as a whole: Why is it there? Does it have a purpose? How did it start? Was there anything before? Will it ever end? What comes after if it ends?
- Story will basically be Pollack following him for a while. Preon will teach Pollack some stuffs about the Universe. Basically will be a bunch of rambling about science stuffs.

Preon is an hypothetical particle in physic. While the concepts used in this story are based on real physic concept, most of the informations here is modified to fit the story. The Dark Matter energy is a concept developped for this story (little is known about dark matter at the moment)
