Naralex, Guardian of Cenarius
Greetings, traveler. I've been expecting you.

I am Naralex Hoofmender, of the Mistrunner clan. We are a people dedicated to healing the earth, and lessening the suffering that has been brought upon the Earthmother by both the Horde and Alliance alike. It is the job of my clan to ensure that the wars waged between the two factions do not take more of a toll upon the her than absolutely necessary.

My fellow Mistrunners are also those who have taken up the druidic path. My parents, both druids, have done their duty well in instilling the druid's life within me from birth. Both travelled much in their younger years, spreading the word throughout Azeroth and taking care of the Earthmother when necessary. As such, they are well respected in our clan, especially now with their position of teaching the younglings the ways of our people. Now, you may be thinking that it is odd for a Tauren such as myself to have the name Naralex. I will agree with you in that I have gotten many a question regarding the origins of my name. Although my parents believe the traditions of our clan and people are of the utmost importance, they had decided to break that tradition for me, in honor to show their reverence for the Night Elf named Naralex. It is said that he dreamed for many years within the Wailing Caverns, stuck within a nightmarish slumber until a group of brave heroes vanquished the nightmares that plagued him and allowed the Archdruid to reawaken. It was his dream to return the Barrens, the home of the Tauranic people, to its former beauty and lushness. It is because of the nobility of his dream that the night elf is worthy of the awe and reverence that we hold for him, rather than the fear and hostility that we Tauren generally feel towards the Night Elves.

Regardless of these tensions, the Earthmother looks after all of us, just as her name suggests. It is my duty as a druid to return this favor, and take care of her to the best of my abilities while teaching my friends and acquaintances about her care as well. While some would look at my work as a job, or even a burden, I simply do not understand where they are coming from. The hunt is a sacred ritual, where we honor and thank the Earthmother for providing for us. Foraging is a privilege, and we always take the time to thank her for her provisions. All of this is something that we Tauren take great pride in teaching to our children from birth.

This is something that I have begun to teach to my friends as well. My eldest friend is a Blood Elf Hunter by the name of Akamria. We have been together since the beginning of our adventurous journey, travelling the world together and overcoming many of the toughest challenges a hero could expect to face. Although our paths have occasionally diverged, we have always come back together. It has been good to have such a constant in my life.

There is also Akamria's younger sister, Fiernia. Though she is still young by Blood Elf standards, she has dedicated her life to the Light, another force that aids to keep our world pure and safe from harm. Though she has not seen as much of the world as her sister has, I know that as time moves forward she is going to go on to do great things.

A newer friend is Anhya, the youngest of the three. A Pandaren Shaman, her people understand the gravity that comes with protecting Azeroth from harm. It is good to see someone so young dedicate her life to protecting the Earthmother, and all of the world around her. I have wandered with her from time to time, and she has helped me greatly in communicating efficiently with the elements so we can better understand the happenings in the world.

My friends are very important to me. What is one without friends and allies? It is my duty to heal their wounds, cure their poisoning, and to free them from curses. It is in their combat and my assistance in it that I feel at home. No matter who I am travelling and fighting with, I am always brought to awe by the ferocity that they carry to protect what they consider important and sacred, and it is from that ferocity that I am able to draw my own strength from.

So, young traveler, now that you know of my past and where I have come from, I must ask you one final question. Please, take your time before answering and reflect upon your answer before coming forward. Think about your friends and family when considering your answer. Think about your teachings, and the path that you have chosen for your life. Think about the implications of that path, and what it means to you. I am not here to sway you of your decision, I am merely here to lend you a hand should you require some additional teachings or assistance in your travels. So now I pose my question to you, and I do urge you to think carefully about your answer:Where do you stand in this war?

Story put together by scout, bare bones by me.
