Renoir is a mortal who was promoted to the status of immortal by Time, who saw his potential and wanted Renoir to paint him a beautiful world. Renoir was given the task of creating beautiful visions and was also given the ability to bring them to life. He has no idea who he was before; he likely died a struggling impressionist painter who was old enough to have experienced love and loss but young enough to remain enchanted with the world (not necessarily Pierre-Auguste Renoir).
When the destruction of Gaia's son reaches the realm of the gods, he finds himself embrangled in the conflict. Aided by a soul he christens "Ariadne," a blur of a memory made corporeal out of love, he plays the role of Theseus and ventures into the Minotaur's labyrinth.
Music: Debussy's Pagodes, an eerily appropriate combination of French Impressionist music and East Asian themes.
