The sea churned and bubbled in his ears as he struggled to reach the surface. He needed air, or he thought he did. His mind was too scrambled to think straight. He kicked with his powerful legs thinking it was going to be a struggle to fight the water. He kicked and kicked, then realized he was gliding, cutting through thewater ever so effortlessly to the surface. What was going on? What's happened to me?
Air filled his lungs as he breached the surface, shaking water from his face and nose. He snorted, making himself choke out the saltiness that filled his body.Gasping, he surveyed his surroundings and saw open ocean."Where...where..dammit how did I get here?" He spun around and thought he saw something in the distance. A flash of a green tail submersed in the water. He blinked and then glared in that direction. Wading in the water and waves, he saw land far off in the distance.
He didn't know how or when he learned to glide in the water, but he did. He cut through the water faster than he could imagine. Before he knew it, he reached the beach. His legs wobbling and exhausted, he walked onto land and fell to his side. Sand hit his face, but he ignored the grainy feeling rubbing on his body. His body.....What had happened? He was covered in smooth green skin, marked and shining. He breathed, salt and low tide filling his nose. He tried to remember. What was that he saw in the water? A tail...His eyes snapped open and he remembered...
He had been on a ship, and was being transported to a small village. He had been blue, Galactic, and ready for a new home. A storm came, he remembered thestorm. The ocean had seemed to be filled with rage and fury. Waves crashed and pounded the ship, causing it to capsize over. He managed to escape and find refuge on somewreckage. He couldn't remember how long he drifted, but he remembered wanting to die. He remembered a voice coming out of the ocean, and he remembered her eyes. Two red eyes staring at him and judging his insignificant worth in her grand realm. Merana. It was Merana. He had begged her for a merciless death. Merana not being one to bemerciful, cried out to him that he was now bound to the sea and to her. Samnu only remembered waking in the water. And now this...
"I can't be cursed forever, I just cant..." He lay on the beach, thinking of his plan. He knew he had to get to Merana. But who could face her? The witch of the sea..."I won't be bound to her forever, I make my own destinies. She will face me, and I will have my freedom back."
