On Monday, Devour ate everything.

Every scrap of food he could find, he consumed. Every drop of drink he could pour, he downed. Bags were shredded, wrappers were licked clean; until there was nothing left. Not even so much as a crumb.

And yet, he was still hungry.

On Tuesday, Devour read everything.

Desperate to satisfy the ache of hunger in his belly, he tried to fill himself with knowledge. Every book was poured over, comics combed from front to back. When that wasn't enough he read newspapers, ingredients lists; the floor became scattered with pages shredded in his desperation.

And yet, he was still hungry.

On Wednesday, Devour fought everything.

Starving now, he turned to the hunger for power. Relentlessly he trained, mastered every blade, wielded every bow. Pursued every opponent he could find, created and invented new ones when those were no longer enough. Battled and warred and raged, until all he could taste was the blood on his tongue.

And yet, he was still hungry.

Today, Devour lays among the rubble of his rampage. Empty food wrappers strewn all around him, books torn to pieces in his frenzy, weapons broken and rusted and stained a dark, murky brown. Full is his stomach with food, full is his mind with knowledge, full is his heart with power.

And yet.

He's still.
