"Two scoops please!"

Jason was nothing but a little boy lost in the world. He always loved ice cream, and wanted to own a palor himself.
There was a problem though.
He lived in an orphanage, and no one ever sought to adopt him, so he rarely even got to leave the grounds of the building. He was not the most attractive boy, but he was cute in his own way, his strawberry-blond hair always messy and fluffy, his freckles dotting all the inches on his face.
The only real reason he was never adopted, was because he never talked to anyone unless they carried a gorgeous, small frozen treat with them.
Ice cream.

It really was his only passion.

Months passed, and eventually years. He was 15 now. A little taller than most, a little wider as well. Freckles still lined every part of his body, his hair still puffy. On one dark afternoon, there was a terrible tornado outside. A younger man, maybe about 32 ran inside.
"M'am, I hope you don't mind, but I would like to stay here until the winds die down. It's ridiculous out there!" he said.
The caretaker woman shot him a stern look, but turned around and went back to her business of cleaning up some puke of an anxious child.
Because of the unrecognizable voice, Jason looked. What he saw was the most amazing thing in his life.

The man had a suitcase with him, that had an ice cream symbol on it.

Jason ran over immediately and sparked conversation about it. The man told Jason that the case was holding his equipment, and he opened it up to reveal that the case was holding many shiny spoons and twinkling scoopers. Mesmerized, Jason questioned him on many things. Who was he? Why'd he have those things? How did he get them?

With a quick grin, the man answered accordingly.
"I am Richard. I own these because they were passed down to me. I own an ice cream parlor right down the road. I've always wanted a son,.. and I guess I came here without thinking."
With this, Jason insisted on going home with him. He pleaded and pleaded, hours upon hours until the tornado was over.

By the time the tornado was over, the papers had been filled out, and both Jason and Richard had been pleased. They got in his car and drove to the parlor, Jason was so ecstatic on seeing it. But there was a problem.

Tornadoes and old buildings don't go together well. It was gone.

Richard slammed on the breaks, ran out and began bawling at the foundation of his memories. Jason just sat in the car, stunned and not knowing what to do. He then slowly crawled out of the car, walked over and looked at the floor.

"Let's remake it." he simply put.

Richard looked up, surprised, but he knew how much Jason wanted this. With a nod, he stood up, got back in the car, and the two of them drove back to his house. Richard had no idea how they would make it, how they would get the funds,... but he believed...

A year and a month passed, Jason had gotten a small job, Richard had help from other citizens and within that good time, the parlor was slowly back up and running. Jason began working there alongside Richard, serving people, chitchatting and all sorts of things. The old name still stayed the same;
Two Scoops.

Decades had passed, and they were both growing with the time. Richard became very ill and was bed ridden in an old-people's home, but Jason continued working. Richard had died on Jason's 67th birthday, and a picture of them when the parlor had reopened still hangs in the parlor today, and when people question about it, Jason loves to tell them everything.
