and finally, over the span of legions of years, he did love her.

since his departure from his home in Ordon, he had partaken in many grand adventures and battles. in his freshest youth, he recalls slaying ugly beasts and aiding those who hailed his name. yet, in spite of his innumerable memories and adventures, he remembers his first encounter of her beauty above all. it captivated him, the way her cerulean eyes held him, and the grace and power that was present in every action she made. it was no surprise that the gods had heralded her with the gift of wisdom.

since that time when he was yet a simple country boy, he has always returned to her defense selflessly. an untold number of times he has guarded her life and her land by his blade, which comes to no surprise that he earned his position by her side as her shield. and throughout his time, he has earned scars, accomplishments, and the respect and love of her land's people; things that any average man would take pride in. still, he feels no pride in his many achievements.

since that very origin of his trials, the source of his motivation that led him to conquer his many challenges was never known to him. in actuality, he had withheld the thought for countless years, casting it away into his subconscious mind. and finally, here he stands in his matured mind and body, with scar-tattered skin and powder blue eyes gazing out of her balcony; he accepts and realizes it.
