I knew someone-or something- was watching me.

Everyone thought I was crazy; doctors, therapists, even my own parents. They said there was something wrong with my mind, and that I was hallucinating.

But I knew.

Sometimes I doubted, thought I was crazy, and got angry at everything around me. But that would pass, and I knew again.

I noticed everything. They were little things; things everyone else missed. A chair on the other side of the room, a curtain blowing in a non-existent wind, leaves in the house with no trees in sight. Little things. But I saw them. And I knew.

I wondered sometimes if that someone was kind, or scary; trustworthy, or a liar. I thought about frightening things. Were they out to kill me? Did they know something about me? Something I myself didn't know?

Most of all, I wondered why. Why would they be watching me of all people? Standing at five feet six inches, plain-looking, with a round face and big green eyes, I'm as average as it gets. Why me?

Then the doubt would come back.

I wanted to know everything about them. What were their secrets? Since they obviously knew mine.

When do they watch me?

When I'm standing near a window?

In my room?

In my shower? I shuddered.

If there was a God, He hated me. Why would God make me feel watched? To warn me?

So many questions, and no one to answer me.

I was scared. What was this person? Was it even a person? What did they want with me?

Everyone thinks I'm crazy.

But I knew.

And I was about to find out why.
