Ramen runs in my blood, but baking is where my heart is. <3

Ayo is half Human, half Beast. Beasts are animals that over the centuries evolved and developed magical powers. These two clans have been waging war with one another since The Great Fallout at the beginning of time. However, Ayo is too busy focusing on running her ramen shop, and dealing with an annoying demon visitor, to notice the constant tension and struggle that exists between the two worlds.
That tension becomes unavoidable when someone from her past re-enters her life and tries to open her eyes to the struggle and strife that a part of Ayo's heritage has to deal with.

Ayo comes from a family of ramen legends. She felt pressured to continue the family legacy when the secret recipes were passed down to her, and so she too pursued opening up her own ramen shop. But deep down, Ayo wants to be a baker.

In the end, she goes on a show similar to Hello Counselor! and opens up a bakery where Beasts and Humans can coexist. (Or should it be just for Beasts?)

TITLE

Being a descendent of ramen legends means that ramen runs in her blood.
Creating the perfect broth and adding complementary toppings was second nature.

But Ayo glowered at the bowl in front of her.The noodles sat impatiently in the steaming bath of broth mocking her. What should be cherished and savoured made her feel resentful and bitter; What was meant to be a blessing felt like a curse. She didn't want to believe that her destiny was to continue the family tradition of making ramen forever.
She loved her heritage and the hustle of her ancestors. She wanted to do them proud. But at the same time…Ayo wanted to bake. She loved the precision, the science, and all of the sweet treats she could create.

But what about the family legacy?

The smell of miso met her nostrils and brought back fond memories of the comfort, warmth, and security that came from living at home. It made her heart ache and made her feel homesick. Ramen represented strength in adversity; perseverance in the changing of times; Safety and stability.
She slurped down some noodles. The broth splashed onto her cheeks. Continuing the family legacy was a no-brainer and appealed to her Virgo sensibilities. Doing what she dreamed felt risky; unknown; out of her control.

She chewed and chewed - circling and circling around her choice for the millionth time like a hawk in the sky.Maybe one day she would find the courage to follow her heart and take that risk.Or maybe she'll continue doing what was expected of her.
