Her name's Thumbtack. You haven’t seen her around, have you?

She’s not missing or anything, she just…. wanders away sometimes. I’ll show you a picture in a moment, though she looks a bit, well, not as lively as she could. You’ll know it’s her though because she’ll have a… thing with her.

I think it was a turnip once. I don’t know what to tell you about that.

Oh and she’ll have a cube of wood with her too. I don’t know what to tell you about that either, but I think that one might be my fault. I found it at the pawn shop. The cube of wood, that is. I’m not sure what possessed me to buy it, but I did. I think I felt bad for it? It has a dent it in.

I can’t tell you how I knew she wanted it, or even where she came from to begin with. She was just sort of there one day, and handing over the cube seemed like the right thing to do. It’s not the strangest way I’ve ever made a friend.

She doesn’t say much, Thumbtack. Or anything, really, but she is quite sweet in her own way. She gave me a thumbtack once, hence the name. I know, I know, not very creative, but she seems to like it so who am I to argue?

Anyway, if you do see her, let me know. I’ve got some pastries she’d probably like.
