Three Greatest Fears: vanishing, someone wishing for Narrowe's freedom, an impossible wish
Three Greatest Wishes: to serve a morally decent master, to never be the cause of war, to return home

The world wasn't ready for my kind.

The world wasn't ready to have so much power.

"Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Corruption is something I've dealt with frequently. I've yet to find a master whose morals have not soured. Certainly it adds entertainment, but now I find myself getting bored. A man is a man is a man. They're all the same.

A man wants money.

I give it.

A man wants fame and acknowledgement.

I make it so.

A man wants a woman.

I change if I must.

A man wants the world.

I present it to him.

The man goes mad and wishes for sanity.

I grant him death.

That's been the story since the dawn of humanity. Or at least civilization. When will I come across a human so strong in their identity that the power I lend them cannot sink into their skin and turn their heart to rot?

My gods created me 50 000 years ago. They told me to go make the wishes of the humans come true. I did so. I did so selflessly. I lasted nearly 43 millennia this way. Things needed to change. I needed to have fun.

Trickery has slipped into my wishes. My masters are never eloquent enough. They always leave loopholes. I make them think twice about asking for gold and women. They never know what they're going to get.

Sadly, lately, it's been getting too easy. Boredom is beginning to set in again. Perhaps my gods made me the only ADHD djinn so that they might be amused.

They're fickle like that.

I didn't say that.

They're great and benevolent creatures, and they have a plan for my short attention span.

And so I sit here on my shelf, in my teapot, listening to the sounds of the shop around me as my cramped living quarters gather dust. I wait. I wait quietly. I wait for the creature who will become my master. I wait to grant their wishes.

Could I have a wish?

I wish for a master unlike my others.

I wish for an honest man with morals.

But I'm not here for my wishes. I'm here for yours. Will you sign my contract?

Just remember; "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Will you let it?
