Cory keeps to himself in a Florida swamp, mainly to avoid hurting others and being hurt in return; being a monster, an unsurprising amount of people want you dead. Spending his days creating unsettling art in bitter isolation, he serves as a reminder to others of what they don't want to be, the rare times he is ever seen to begin with. Those know they have come too close to his domain when they stumble upon twisted wires, metal, and pipes jutting from the waters and gnarled into the trees.

Originally of a set of twins, Cory's seemingly healthy brother was born dead. Cory--born abnormal--was rejected by his already upset parents and raised in the seclusion of a Florida swamp by his aunt, Jen. His upbringing was healthy despite the oddities following his growth: the sharp teeth he was born with were replaced by more, even sharper teeth; the occasional sweating blood; growing rapidly, the stature of an adult by the age a human would be considered a teenager. He seemed to be a literal monster, all but acting like one.
That changes when Clot rips forth from the arteries of his neck, telling Cory the reason of his creation, which he has no choice but to obey.
