Ian Asmodeus
Doctor Ian Asmodeus (EE-yan as-mo-DAY-uss) is the owner and lead scientist of Asmodeus Genetech Lab in Darkside.
Biography
Doctor Ian Asmodeus seems at first sight a peculiar match for the Darkside, a brilliant mind and an even temper lost in a sea of darkness and corruption. Ever at work within his laboratory, he splices both gene and molecule free of charge for anyone who passes by.
Twenty years old, Dr. Asmodeus is known to have studied alongside the enigmatic Dr. Euclid of Atebus--a relationship best left unmentioned around either. Rumor has it that Asmodeus was responsible for Dr. Euclid's unfortunate transformation into a diseased wyllop for the better part of five years; however, Euclid declined to comment other than grumbling, "Oh, the incompetent mule got his in return, I promise."
In a spectacular show of talent, Dr. Asmodeus presented Subeta with a special challenge; in exchange for discovering the proper ingredients and bringing them to him, he would create a Nuclear Potion free of charge for anyone who succeeded in finding the right combination. It is said that the good doctor and his colleagues spent long hours on the phone while watching the news, delighted at the excitement across the planet as people scrambled to be the first to succeed.
One nagging question remains, however--why did Dr. Asmodeus choose the Darkside as his laboratory's headquarters? The doctor himself seemed reluctant to explain, and thus speculations abound. Maleria herself seems...intrigued by the young scientist's presence, and while she personally offered no insight on her feelings about him, the Gatekeeper pointed out that she seems to make regular visits to his laboratory after-hours to observe his work firsthand.
Relationships
Aside from the aforementioned hostility between Doctors Asmodeus and Euclid, Ian has other notable relationships, the most obvious being with his rreign, Curie. Although the rreign species did not spawn from any of his experiments, it is said that Curie is original prototype of the nuclear variety of several species. Despite being one of his many projects, the relationship they share is much deeper than that between a doctor and a patient. Curie and Asmodeus have a very strong friendship that very little, if anything, could pull apart.
It is also worth noting that Ian has a protective streak when it comes to Quentin, questions about their gender and other private matters and how those questions affect their feelings.
