In Their Own Words: I have cosplayed as Magus from Chrono Trigger.
I was first introduced to the game Chrono Trigger when I was 11 years old. Now that I am 24, I can still say that Magus is still one of my favourite fictional characters.
Chrono Trigger was my first experience with a full fledged RPG. Not only were the graphics amazing (for the time), but there was an interesting story and many fascinating characters.
Magus caught my eye because he was a very "grey" character. He wasn't good, but he wasn't necessarily evil either. It wasn't something I was used to seeing in other forms of entertainment back then.
Magus' story line was the most depressing but also the most relatable, in my opinion. Magus wastes his entire life trying to find a way to go back in time in order to prevent a tragedy from his past. Who hasn't wished that they could do the same?
Eventually, he does find a way to go back in time, but the events he was hoping to prevent happened anyways. Filled with feelings of powerlessness and regret, he settles for getting revenge on the creature he went back in time to stop, but he does not find happiness. In the end, he goes off into the world, continuing to chase after his own past.
