In Their Own Words: Sweeney Todd is one of my favorite movies. Ms. Lovett, played by Helena Bonham Carter, is used to show the follies of obsessive love, and greed. Because of this, I decided to cosplay her.
Ms. Lovett owns a struggling pastry shop, which provided the background. She also, with the help of Sweeney Todd, kill and baked people into meat pies (the origin of the tiny splotches of blood). She is always seen with the same layered-type dress and fingerless, lace gloves.
In one scene (call "The Contest"), Ms. Lovett wears an adorable hat. I could hardly leave it out!
Helena Bonham Carter was pregnant during the filming, so she couldn't dye her hair red. So in the movie, some scenes Ms. Lovett will have reddish hair, and in others, it will be brown. I just like red better.
