Xue Hai (who signed up for college using a fake name, Da Lung --the repeated sound of his favorite show's theme song, The Pink Panther). An absolutely nerdy, naïve, and foolishly 'brave' boy who'd jump into a river to save a girl he believed to be committing suicide, even though he can't swim.
Basically, he's an idiot. But it works for him. Even if he gets slapped around by Chen Bao Zhu (the mean, if not sadistic, goth girl), resulting in getting his mushroom hair to become a mop head as shown here, he still falls into her good graces with his love for The Pink Panther. And the dance.
Especially the dance.
