This ancient and mysterious mechanism seems to have survived amidst the crumbling temple ruins, still alive for whatever function it meant to serve. Archaeologists and linguists speculate, based on the carved script in the chamber, that this chamber was meant to test for those with the power of divination.
Mosaic discs in six colors litter the floor of the chamber, four of which can be placed in a row in an attempt to figure out the correct pattern. After a row is complete, the gems to the right illuminate to provide feedback: a blue glow indicates that a disc of the correct color is in the correct position, a yellow glow indicates that a disc of the correct color is in the wrong position, and an unlit gem indicates that a disc of an incorrect color has been placed.
The gems do not give away which specific discs they're responding to, but each new row gives the puzzled viewer another chance to crack the existing code based on what they've learned. After ten unsuccessful tries, the panel shudders, sheds the discs and goes dark, resetting the code and forcing the visitor to begin anew.
