Subeautique Change!
In order to change with fashion trends, Esmerelda at the Subeautique has changed the way that you purchase her wares!
Now you can find a Subeautique Invitation while wandering around the site, which when redeemed, gives you access to the current items that Esmerelda is selling (which change frequently!). You can also sell the invitation instead of redeeming it!
Each invitation will get you one item in the boutique, so make sure you get something you want!
She still charges an arm and a leg for her clothes though, so don't expect any discounts!

I don't like this at all. It's pretty much why I took a break, looks like I need to just quit. I used to love restocking there and it was how I made my money. I don't feel bad for people that can't restock, they have other methods of money making just like we do. We can't all be good at everything. It wasn't about just making money. I literally found it fun, it was a sport to me. You guys butchered it :/ thanks.

I think it is ridiculous. Now we have to pay a lot to even get in the shop and then spend a lot in the shop?

My concern is that this may mean that Subeautique items will become even more super-expensive than they already are, and that things that aren't highly desired (i.e. not wigs) aren't going to end up on the site to buy in user shops.
I never RSed Subeautique, but I could still buy most of the items I really wanted from user shops. I'm concerned now that I *still* won't be able to buy from Subeautique (because of the rarity of invitations) but that now I won't be able to buy the items from user shops (because they'll be far too expensive or not there at all).

I love this because it adds a unique, new dimension to the site. We already have lots of shops in which to restock. This is a more fitting way to sell the items too! Love it!

I didn't like to restock at subeautique because I suck as restocking and everyone is quicker than me but I still don't like it now because I have rotten luck and probably will never get invites
Oh well, I didn't have SubQ itens before and I won't have then now anyway lol

:) I like this a lot. Thanks for making it easier to pick and choose what I want to buy. No more grabbing the first thing I see only to find out its crap.
I've already found 5 invites so far. I used one and sold the others since I really need the sP more right now.

This is a terrible idea.
Rsing from the SubQ was my only source of sP making apart from buying credits, which I can't afford at all right now.

Now the tickets are going to cost an arm and a leg and all the prices of SubQ stuff will reflect that, even the cheap things. :( And getting one yourself? Might as well just sell it to get the SP instead of trying to get an item.

Learn to restock and stop complaining about how hard things are to rs. People who know the tricks to restocking (which aren't hard to figure out) get the good items. Any game you put more time into gives you more reward. Practice makes you better.

Well, after feeling a little peevish all day about how I never could catch anything and now might even less likely snag something, I got an invite when I clicked over on this thread to see how "rare" the invites might be. Guess it is my lucky day!

I like this idea! I have tried diligently to restock in the boutique in the 4 yrs. I've been here and only managed to get a handful or two of items out of there. This way everyone who finds a ticket gets a chance to buy something at shop price instead of user prices! If it is random events that give you the ticket it will be a slow enough process to keep resell prices profitable. Hope everyone at least gives it a chance to see how it goes :)

I never restock the SQ, so I really don't care that much about the change.
I already found an invite, so it's a nice way to get an easy cheap item every once in awhile.

... This makes RSing harder than it already is. I can't even get my hands on an invitation; honestly I think it's better to just have ping groups to let us know when it RSes. I really don't like this update.

I never had much luck RS'ng from the SubQ, this now makes it virtually impossible for me. -_-

this seems like another one of those fix-something-that-isn't-broken moments that subeta staff is so fond of but it's an interesting concept; we'll see how it goes.

I'm also kinda annoyed because the way I ever got most of my REs was because I was restocking in SubQ. None of the other places in the site hold enough interest for me to sit for as long have as many pageviews. Where is it you are trying to steer us to, exactly, because this just makes me want to go do something off site instead, not peak my interest in on site things I didn't previously enjoy (like questing).

I'm a restocker, but I seem to be in the minority of thinking that this is a great idea. Tique restocking was getting absolutely ridiculous. The same 10 people were getting all the items and charging an arm and a leg for everything. I'm super excited about this because it gives me a chance to actually complete some collections, which I haven't been able to do since the change in rarities/restock times in the tique. Hoo-ray!

I haven't found any coins, so I'm not particularly confident about how many invites I'll find.

Considering that I barely get random events at all, I kind of doubt that I will be getting an invite any time soon. I'll wait and see how this turns out. :/

Keith - Er, then what was this comment you made earlier: "This way it's a sP sink, and less sP moving around (to the middle men)." ?
Either it is intended to be an sP sink, or it isn't - you might want to decide which it's intended to be and stick with that. And, honestly? If you're just looking to make Subeautique items "different," from the rest, that's great. But if you're looking to make an sP sink, this really doesn't seem to be the most efficient way of going about it.

Saren - We aren't looking for a sP sink. This will be about as effective as it was before in that respect, we are aiming to give SBQ items a different value on the user side, and also just make them a unique concept vs the rest of the items on the site that just restock.

I REALLY REALLY hope this is not going to be like the bbh. I do think it would make stuff more rare if it was like the old ts, but please no bbh. I have and am pretty sure will never get anything from there..that stuff is like getting a riptide in OD:P maybe even less>.>

"I have to wonder how this will help our other problem (inflation). Now a big sP sink is dependent on random items to initiate? I'm not sure that's going to help anything..."
This :/ I really don't see how a rare random event can be anything resembling an effective "sink." A GOOD sink would remove more than a measly couple of million sP a day/every other day, depending on how many people find invitations per day.
Restocking the Subeautique more then twice a day, and leaving it open to EVERYONE, would have been a better route if you were wanting an sP sink, TBH.

So what's the frequency of the tickets/invitations? Token shop is hit and miss with anything depending on the time of day. I just hope these are fairly and equally distributed.

Interesting how there's a clear split between people who constantly rs'ed there and people like me who rarely (if ever) rs'ed there. Personally, I think it's pretty creative, but I won't judge how it might impact the economy until a few months have passed. I'd like to see how this balances out.

I'm wondering what rate we'll see the Invitations. Because if it's like the goddamned Oracle quests, I'm seriously doubting the chances and the potential cost.

Not really sure how I feel about this :/ I'm not a great or frequent restocker, but if I really needed sP, I could spend some time focused on RSing and manage to nab a few tique items, and make the sP I needed. It really stinks to know this isn't an option anymore, but I'm curious to see if tique items sell any differently due to this

Personally, I think I like this change. I was always disheartened in the past because of folks with faster internet connections who sit there waiting to buy out SubQ and I never stood a chance at getting anything. Now I feel like I actually have a chance to get stuff, so thanks! :D

Okay...so basically. ...You just made it harder to get subQ. I think its stupid. Peopke are already price gouging the new subQ lines. will the invitations float somewhere on the page when you find one, or will it just be an event that says: "you found an invitation to subeautique while browsing the site"? çause if it's a floating item that you have to click to get, there's a big chance that you'll miss it..
0

Not sure I'm too thrilled with this new method. Will have to see how it goes though. As a few other people have asked, can we still get SBQ items from quests?
0
Opundo
I don't buy that this will be an sP sink. I don't see an source for sP to go out the system other than the cost of the purchase of the sbq item. This also puts a limit on the amount of sbq items coming into the economy. It potentially can decrease the amount of sP going out if fewer sbq items are sold.
I'm not thrilled that cheaper sbq items will more or less cease to exist with the base cost of an invitation, but on the other hand, I might be able to get a rare wig easier for less sP.

What Thomas said. I -really- hope it doesn't just restock when all the items have sold. No one is going to "waste" a 3mil-ish invite on items currently worth 100-200k. I realize eventually prices should even out, but who knows how long that could take.
0
Thomas
Also, can you shed some light on how it restocks items? Is it time based or does it depend on the number of items that have been sold? Because those Sougara Nero Pants are going nowhere in a hurry.
0
Thomas
@Keith - I'm sure you can appreciate there's an opportunity cost attached to actions, though? If I had the wig, I'd probably wait it out and get another wig to sell on for a premium - and I say this as someone who does like to collect all the lines. Which is aside from the fact we have achievements for doing so!
I suppose a lot of this also depends on the rarity of the coupons, though it'd be good for the items to still be entering the economy in some other way. I'm sure you can appreciate that the Lililace GoldenRags Woolen Socks, for example, are less desirable than the Lililace GoldenRags Chunky Knit Cardigan.

Wow I am so not here for this, since it effectively sets the price of new SubQ items (or ones that'll get inflated) to at least 3m, and while some things I see as being worth that (hair, good makeup, maybe some awesome shoes) I am so not here for a 3m set of gloves or bracelet or s/t.
0
Stephi
I really like this because I don't have the time or patience to restock from Subeautique. I may actually be able to get some of these new lovely items for myself. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to find an invitation.

Wow. SubQ was one of my fav restock shops - I am so disappointed I don't know what to say. Do not like this one bit.
0

I like that now I don't have to sit around for a restock and potentially miss it. I don't like that I will probably have to wait forever for an invitation to even appear in the first place thus meaning I will probably have less of a chance of getting anything.

I'm kind of disheartened by this new change. Restocking at the SubQ was my favorite pastime on the site and now I no longer have that :(
0

The problem I can see occurring at the moment - nobody is going to want to buy a pair of gloves, for example, when you can wait it out for a wig. Are there going to be other ways to obtain sbq items, for example, from quests?
0
Carpathia
I really love this idea. I was never fast enough to catch anything good in SubQ, in fact, I never restocked any from the shop at all. Mine were either gifts, Gift of Fashions Past, quest rewards, or restocked from the Free Shop. Now I feel I have a chance at actually restocking ones I need!

Is this intentional?

Confused - if I use the invite to go into the shop and the 1 item I want isn't listed, then what? Do I have to buy something or lose the shop privilege or can I keep going back until the item I want shows up? There are only 2 items I really want from Sub so want to make sure how this works first.
0

You need an invitation to even enter the shop.
One invitation = one item, then you are out until you get another one (unless you have more than one cashed in at once).

I was just going to ask this. I cashed in my invitation because I thought it expires and the items in the shop are the only ones available - meaning new items wouldn't re list and you could STILL use your invitation. Does it expire after the next re listing? So after you redeem your invite, do you only have so long to buy something before that invitation expires?
And thanks for letting us find them on the site.
Now do you HAVE to have an invitation in order to shop from there? Or can you go in on your own accord and shop?
0
Lindsey
My only question is, will the invites appear in the corner like floating items, or will they appear as random events? I'm just confused on how we're going to find/collect these invites.

But sP is still going to be moving around, you just changed what item it is going to be centered around (invites vs actual items). I'm confused. Well. .. we'll see how it pans out. I just feel bad for anyone who was/is an SBQ collector :-/
0
SlayerWolf
If its the same rareity as the coins.. Umm i think i last got a coin random 4 months ago :( will see how things go
0
Keith
This way it's a sP sink, and less sP moving around (to the middle men). We aren't trying to drive down prices, we want SBQ to be rare and hard to get a complete set of anything, and I think that this pretty much sets that in stone. It'll be harder to buy the items from user shops, but much easier if you get the invitations yourself and wait for the item you want to pop up.
0
Song_745
I love this! ...I think. I need to get back to doing quests everyday so I can find some. :)
0
PoeticEnigma
But the middle man is still being an sP sink, since they're buying from the shop, sP still leaves the system. The amount of sP they get from selling to other users isn't created out of thin air so. . . IDK It just seems like the same amount of people are going to be 'sinking sP' in the old way and the new way. IDK now maybe I'd understand it more if the invites were in the MC for crazy amounts but. . .random events don't sink anything lol
0

I love this idea! Not great for restockers but for everyone else who fails, perfect solution! Great idea ^_^
0
PoeticEnigma
Oh. Well then. I really don't understand the point of the change at all then XD Why remove the middle man if not to drive down prices?
0
Keith
PoeticEnigma - This isn't really mean to bring down the prices. The idea is that the people who want the items will get the invitions (either by collecting them themselves or buying them from other users who don't care), buying the items, and putting them in their wardrobe. It removes the middle man (restockers) from the SBQ.
0
PoeticEnigma
Not sure how I feel about this. I may be glad I gave up trying to collect all the SBQ clothing after this change. I don't see the prices coming down in user shops since this seems to really limit the pool of available items. . . but at the same time maybe this will help since more than the same people with fast connections can restock?
hrmm.

From the questions I'm seeing: They are random events. The invitation gets used when you purchase something, so if there is nothing in the shop you want/not stocked you can come back later. You have the option to sell the invitation if you would rather the sp then items. This is what I am gathering of it so far.
0
Keith
And, the shop is open to you as long as you have 1 or more invites in your currency bank. The invites are only taken away when you buy an item, so you can keep coming back until she has an item that you want! :D
0
Cathii
Sorry, another question!
I noticed that there is a subeautique invites in the vault section -- does this mean that we can pile up invites, and pick an item whenever one we want actually restocks?
Or do we have a limited time to pick one of the items listed only? (:

It means that the shop will no longer be a normal restocking shop, you will only be able to get the items from this method.
