EXP Cost Change!

For those of you who don\'t follow the battle forum hashtag: Experience costs have changed! The price to increase stats now scales with your pet. But don\'t worry, costs are capped at the previous prices -- you\'ll pay less if you have a smaller pet, but the same as before if your pet is Tier 10 or higher. Go forth and battle!

Time to start eating into the 173k exp I had saved on a pet :D
Newer battlers have felt neglected for a long time. It's always been tough to get into battling, slow to gain stats (unless they autotrain, which most new battlers don't), and hard to advance, because the same opponents used to rise in difficulty every year. So yes, right now, we are focusing on the little guys a bit -- giving them a new challenger, some "newbie boosters," cheaper experience costs (which should have been that way all along, like in other games), and a win reset/new loot. The big guys are going to get their turn soon. Like I said, we have a lot of stuff coming up this year. :)
I can see why this would upset a lot of old battlers who spent so much time and effort buying boosters and collecting EXP to train their pets, only to have something like this occur. I think it would upset me too if I had spent that much time and money training my pets...
@Cranberry
I dislike how all these changes are geared towards new users. And my sincerest apologies for not listening 100 constructive reasons though 99% of posts don't have a reason for liking/disliking.
HURRAY
Shit lol I was about to complain!!! I didn't want to pay more XP, but it's noticeably cheaper!
Thank's Subeta! :) Best Luminare gift you could have given me!
What is with a bunch of the challengers disappearing?
Love this change. Just spent over 600k exp on my battle pet a few days ago; good thing he had just reached tier 10 or I may have had to bang my head against the wall a few times. :P Seriously, thank you for capping it and for helping smaller pets by lowering the cost.
I don't see why this is bad for older battlers, if anything it will now be super fun to start training an additional pet :)
Just spent most of Shadow Mews exp. last week, but this is a pretty awesome change anyway.
Now off to go pummel some opponents! C=
I think this is an awesome change.Thanks.
this is fantastic, i'm definitely battling a lot more now.
Eeeeee, this makes me so happy. Flandre only eats up about 800-ish for every stat besides health now, and that's really awesome! And now I can use this to manually boost a few stats to be more suitable for my pets who have stats for show! Squee. <3
Would've been nice before I spent my 150k xp last week x.x
Wow awesome! I had a bunch of extra exp just sitting around! Nice little boost.
omg this makes me super happy. I never really was that dedicated to battling and this makes it a whole lot easier for me. I can start training my other pets too!
Wow..this is cool, but for all us older battlers...ugh...it kinda sucks.
Awesomesauce. I'm paying half of what I used to pay!
Awesome! <3
I like it. :) It doesn't affect my 'main' pet, who's already Tier 10 (and has been mostly hoarding his exp for when training times go up again in another 20-odd levels). But I have loads of smaller pets with whom I've recently started to dabble more in training/battling, and I can see this being really useful to them. Thank you. :D
Love this! Of course, wish I hadn't just spent all my exp two days back... so it goes. haha. Thanks, Subeta! Very positive change.
Oops spent mine last week. Oh well, this will be great for my up and coming battle pets.
Thanks for making this a news post/announcement!
I'm loving all these new battle-related changes!
i don't get it
This is one of the best improvements to the new Battle System yet. Good on you!
@Veratrum the old system was level cost 1000- most other stats were like 1250, with this new system if you are below tier 10 you are going to pay less then what you did before BUT if you are higher than tier 10 you will not pay more than that
Oooh, so glad I was saving up my experience until I had a bunch, so I could do a lot at one time- now I don't have to!
There is one part I don't understand, though. What exactly does this mean?
"But don't worry, costs are capped at the previous prices -- you'll pay less if you have a smaller pet, but the same as before if your pet is Tier 10 or higher."
That's the only part I don't understand.
bit hard on the older player, spent so much to get it up & now it is so much easier. should be some sorta reward or system to give the older ones a break a bit i think.
Yay ^.^~! I like this :3
oh that's cool, I like this a lot!
Chm
Good!
YAY! I'll love using this for my up-and-coming battle pet (: I like this change, I just wish I hadn't used all of his EXP last week, oops.
I'm not happy about this. :s
RNA
Yippee! I was able to increase my battle pet's stats to 300 today.
That cute lizard needs to be a pet
Nice! Although, I wish I had known this a few days ago before I spent about 35k exp lol
thank you so much :) this is so nice, as i just managed to raise the stats of few pets, by few points.
YAY! happy new year :)
Moz
Ohh I quite like this change... cool! Thanks :D
Sweeeeet! :)
Nice!
This is great. :3
Oh, yay! More incentive for me to start battling more often. :D Thanks Subeta, this is cool.
Haha I literally just spent a load of Barriss's exp a couple of days ago XD don't mean that in a bad way though, I love this change and am excited by it :) thank you Cranberry :)
Alright! Now using exp to raise your pets' stats is actually worthwhile for everyone!! XD Thanks, you guys!!
I'm so glad this happened! Thanks Subeta!
Awesome! Thank you :D
YES! I don't feel so bad about Giroro being a weakling! : D I think this is a lot more fair--the 1,200 or so I was spending was a bit much...
Definitely liking this change. Its a great way to help inexperienced pets gain stats. The cap is a great idea as well. The only reason some people will be annoyed is because they're already spent a lot of points. Still a great change though.
YES!!!
