Cron Updates
Subeta has been looking for ways to reorganize and optimize our scheduled scripts to provide a smoother gaming experience. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of functions that run every minute, five minutes, fifteen minutes, hourly, and overnight daily. Some scripts are small and others are resource intensive. We want to bring light to two changes that we made this weekend:
High Score Payouts: The payout system for high score earners was moved from its midnight slot to its own 2 AM position. There are over fifty high score lists that pay out and it takes a toll on the server. We are hoping that moving it to its own time slot prevent it from overloading (and stopping) in the middle of the script.
Item Prices - Average Price Today and other features: There have been some cuts to the amount of processing that the script does that once, but we've increased its its frequency fourfold. This is only a preliminary step and we are looking into ways to cycle through all of the items on the site at a faster pace.

I'm in panic mode from all these changes out of the blue that keep kicking me out of my account since all this achievement import stuff started happening. It's even more scary the forums are gone so I can't contact anybody. Good job scaring me silly guys you got me good XD.

is a blank white page so how are we supposed to report any achievement problems when the forums are invisible to part of the site?
These new changes out of nowhere are extremely frustrating when some of us are being cut off from contacting anyone. Thank you kindly ^_^.

The site NPC character told me to import more achievements again this evening. This time it imported the other half of them. Is it necessary to block people access to the site over a new achievement system that we can't even report problems about because the forums are a blank white page with nothing on it? Shouldn't the block access thing only be used for very important site issues? I sure hope the site gets better soon with the highest respect because it is not any fun this way since I can't stay here for very long without getting booted out. Get well soon subeta ^_^.

I've seen this one 3 times since it imported over.
I guess some of these we have to earn all over again.
The new feature looks nice and all only the digital circle thing that brings up each achievement is so huge on my monitor screen...
It imported a lot of stuff and took somewhere between 15 minutes to half an hour because it said not to leave the page until it was done. It looks great as far as that goes only it's confusing trying to figure out what is what ^_^.

I've had to import my achievements 5 times now.. I THINK they're all there (having to use the new search option to find each one is really a pain, as I can't see them all in the 'earned' listing.). And I can't see the forums, it's just a blank white screen. >. <

I came in a few minutes ago to find a message telling me I had to import all my achievements before it would let me into the site. Then after a bit of waiting the forums have disappeared to a blank white page. I thought my account got compromised or something seeing that NPC character telling me I can't access the site without importing my achievements first. I didn't ask to have mine imported in the first place and the digital look to the achievements page is just plain scary to me and extremely overwhelming. It was hard enough the way it was before getting anything to load and now this. My bad day just keeps getting worse.... Shouldn't there be a news post telling people what to expect instead of scaring the daylights out of all of us...

I really hope you're serious about improving the lag on subeta! I would love to play and hang out here again...instead of just checking for stamps for me to add to my friend's collection!

Just here to post that I love these little bits of "behind the scenes" info. This type of communication really helps us users to understand everything you do in trying to get the site to run smoothly.

I guess another thing that would help ease the server load is, if you would finally stop the annoying automatic scratchcard alert, which you imposed during some event, when it was changed to 5-minutely. I mean, there is an option to choose an alert, I don't see, why the reminder comes in unasked for, esp. now with the short waiting time. I've been wanteing to make a bug report on this forever...

So glad to see the average price being worked on. It is so unreliable, and so when people do think its true to the actual prices they get mad when I say 'its not even going for half that so no I wont offer that much'

I think it might take a few more days for it to actually take effect because I'm sure they have a ton of games high scores to change over and they have to rework the coding and also put it into effect. I wasn't online for most of the night, but I would assume changes like this would probably need some site downtime for it to go through to the servers.

A good idea to spread the load on the servers. If a 2 hour delay ensures high score payments, that's great news :)

@Mike I assume it means the Today's Average price and Overall Average price in the hover. So that maybe it would be more of an accurate average rather than 1-2 mil for items that clearly are going for 450k or something.
Which might help with autopricing in this case because if the average is somewhere close to the current/lowest price then the players might be more likely to choose that option than the lowest and then items won't necessarily be so drastically undercut if one person puts something that is average 450k at 400k and 3 other people autoprice it at the same time (before it sells) causing more people to price it at the lower price. At least that's what I get from the post.
