Antique Shop

The Antique Shop is now open!
There are two ways to purchase items from the Antique Shop. For now, there are tabs for the Islander items and Pirate items, but future tabs for other plot and event prizes will be added. By going to the main section for these, you’ll be buying items full price and be able to do whatever you want with them. For example you could buy the Salty Chart Pieces from the Pirates tab and put them in your pet’s treasure chest, one of your galleries, your vault, or even send it to a friend!
The second way to purchase items from the Antique shop is by clicking one of the item types after “Direct To Collectionsâ€. For example, if you click books you’ll have all the book listed from the different events (right now only pirate and islander books are listed). By buying an item from this tab, you’ll be getting a nice discount and bypass your inventory. In the case of foods and books, these items will be fed/read to your active pet. When you feed/read the foods/books to your pet or buy a plushie/beanbag, they disappear from this section so you can easily keep track of what you still need to purchase. If you end up reading all the books to your pet from the books tab (whether through the antique shop or your inventory!), the tab will disappear until we add another old plot/event!
We will give you guys a heads up before we get rid of any other retired currencies just like we did with the islander/pirate currencies! Remember you can still convert your old pirate/islander points in for sP here!

o.O...

Ohhh, I have wanted some of those hair flowers for years. YEARS. A bit too rich for my bank, but hopeful that the prices may shift in time so that it's a bit more feasible.

I think the fact that some of it was in the billions gave me sticker shock.
But other than that, I can't really complain! These will be around forever so I might as well start saving Lol.

Hey staff, thank you for implementing this feature :) I think the prices are fair because these are supposed to be hard to obtain and I am sorry you have to deal with so many complaints and insults from your users, who asked for this feature and benefit from the ability to buy items that were completely unavailable before.
@Moltres
Agree with your point about the priced being ridiculously high. But, your suggestions about the inactive users would not do anything, as their money is not in circulation either way.

@Moltres
I can save up and buy the stuff I want gradually so I'm pretty okay with that.
If 30 mil is a pile of sp then hell yeah I'm sitting on piles of it.
A shop on a virtual pet sites are a piss poor comparison to real lifeantique shops anything.

@cartel,there absolutely no excuse in these items being this extreme in price!Just because you and some others are sitting on piles of Sp doesn't mean the rest of us are!These look more like grossly inflated Ebay auction prices from shill bidding, rather than antique shop prices!I've gone to antique shops before,and they sure don't have prices this extreme in rl on all their items!I wished they would have found other ways to re-release these items such as the Hustler,or even through the Freyalise!
I would've rather try to catch some of those items through the Freyalise at a more affordable price,then what they're doing now.This is just going to put more Sp in the system from people trying to save to get at least a couple of the items,rather than remove it.Did the staff ever consider the fact that not all Sp isn't going to be removed because of users who have long since abandoned Subeta,and left everything to rot?
Maybe if they started deleting accounts that have been inactive for three years or longer,they would not only eliminate large amounts of Sp just rotting, but also save more bandwidth and server space.After all if those users really wanted to come back,they would've logged in at least once a year.

Happy, happy, Joy Joy Joy! No complaints from me! I already snagged a previously unbuyable sticker that I needed. And got it stuck into my album to boot! Hundreds of millions is still better that not buyable at all. Gives me something to work towards!
I'd like to thank Subeta staff for making these items available again. I actuall think the prices are fair - if they`d been much lower, economy would have taken a huge blow, in my opinion. I won`t be able to afford most or even some of these items, but I would have never had a chance before, so there`s that.

Prices on wearables probably won't change, guys. The thing with the other collections is that you can't remove those items from your collection - once you use a plushie, beanbag, sticker, book, food, it's gone. But you can take an item out of your wardrobe whenever you want.

What about the Wearables being direct-to-wardrobe? The wardrobe IS essentially a collection, and you do get achievements as you add to it.....Because the prices on the wearables make me cackle and say "All about the NOPE train to EFFthatistan!"

@Archimedes
hehe, they weren't my actions, not my computer, nor at my house. I just watched him do it.
I'm actually pointing out how pathetic Subeta's "fixes" are in conjunction with things like these recurrent hyped-up new shops releases.
So perhaps, just perhaps, they should take and listen to their userbase before they completely lose it- especially the paying types.

Edit:
: Eventually there will be one of the staff who listens. And this one person we need to reach and not to scare of with insults. (;@ChibiStraws
Yes, I know. But the only reasonable thing to do IS pointing out the short commings of the system. In a logical and a polite way. It doesn´t matter how often our argumens are ignored or pushed aside. Because insulting the people we want somethiong from won´t change anything. It is not goal-oriented.
Ahem, I wouldn´t point out criminally liable actions X´D

The hype for making these retired items available for everyone sounded great... until i saw the prices. Maybe you forgot that "all" aren't rich? The idea was nice, the sentiment got my hopes up and the reality dashed them fast. Nope, my sP will be used for more attainable items thank you.

@Archimedes
lol, I read the reply you got- basically brushing aside your argument on how long it would take to make almost 4 million sp, and telling you to buy something cheaper instead.
Weak, very weak.
I swear the staff just does these things out of BOREDOM. Start one project, getting bored when they realize it's not working correctly or it's actually causing more problems than it's solving, and moving on to something else when the complaints get too much and the patches upon patches stop working.
You know I watched a friend, someone that tests security systems professionally, hack into the site in less than two minutes? WITHOUT any of his hacking programs. He did it out of curiosity, and proceeded to fix about 4 or 5 errors he saw on a single page. Subeta seriously needs to get its act together.

I can´t speak for other users but I haven´t been ignored. My comment was answered 2 hours ago (:
Yes, well, I wouldn´t call them weak excuses. They try to explain their reasoning. Yes, the pricing wasn´t thought through, I concede, but surely it wasn´t done to spite the users.

They already ignore everything we say and just do whatever the heck they want anyway, then hide behind weak excuses.
If they don't want to be called on their behavior, they should, oh, I don't know.... act better?
Perhaps stop "fixing" thing that aren't broken and then ignoring their user base when they're told they made HUGE freaking mistakes?
And stop ignoring us here?

Hahahaha no one in their right mind is going to buy these. The collection items maybe, but everything else is ridiculous.
@ChibiStraws
Please, insulting the staff and calling them idiots won´t get us anywhere. Don´t be aggressive in your critics. The other party will get defensive and not think about what is said. Okay?

Yea, whoever thought these prices up was an absolute idiot.
You're just pushing users away in droves with moves like this- and you're doing it one after the other consistently- bravo!
No one I know is going to spend 40 mill sp on a single wearable- get real.
If the idea was to give users who missed the plots a chance at the items, then you seriously missed the mark. We don't need a second Millionaire Shop that's elitist even for Millionaires, thank you.

@Sarai
It´s not the concept of saving up for something but the time you have to do it. And the time you have to spend on Subeta to be able to earn sp. I need 2-3h for all of the quests (Carl, Saggi....), 1h to organize my shop, 1-2h to play the games. And I think myself fast in doing so. That´s ca. 5 hours I spend on Subeta every day just for the regular stuff. Do the math: 365days x 5hours/day x 3years = 5475 hours for one single item (one of the godly weapons), = 228,125 whole DAYS for ONE single item! Sorry, but that´s insane, utterly and completely insane.
That´s an effort that does NOT compare to the effort the users had to take during the Pirate/Islander-Plot.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! SUBETA LISTENED TO MY SUGGESTIONS!!! LIKE EXACTLY WITH THE DIRECT TO PET FOR FOOD AND BOOKS. OH MER GAWD!!! SO HAPPY.
But yo, those prices would break my bank. I think it's great for hardcore collectors. As much as I am addicted to achievements, I'll sit this one out. Enjoy to those that can afford it and lurve the items! :)

I dont get why a lot of people are acting like saving up for something is this horrible foreign concept.
Oh boy,I was so excited about these items being re-released!Then I saw those prices.These prices are just a real ripoff!What the Hell were you thinking Subeta staff?Nobody is going to be able to afford most if not all those items!For the prices you want,I would be able to buy everything single thing in the MC, plus past Collection items and many of the Godlies!You can't get that much Sp playing all the games and doing Quests for even two weeks,not even for a whole calender month!
And what great way to scare off new players, as well ones that started playing long after these plots were over!You being just as bad as Neopets,especially when it came to the Paintbrushes!The good Paintbrushes got price jacked,yet instead of doing something reasonable about it, they told users that they would have to save up!As if anyone playing can sit and wait for years before they could finally get one single decent Paintbrush!Not to mention they retired some of the highly sought ones making things even worse!Or when you finally got the exact amount for what it was going for in the shops,only to find it cost double or even triple because of the greedy pigs there!
Maybe you really need to rethink these prices and cut them in half! Otherwise, I'm not going to bother with these items at all!They can all just sit and rot!I don't have years upon years to save to just get a single plushie or a single minion from there!And if players keep dropping like flys,Subeta might not have but even three years left, if not less than that.

@Cranberry
It doesn´t have to be the godly weapon, choose any other (insane) expensive item in the new shop. It´s the principle of the thing. It´s an "all or nothing"-system. It´s like this: https://www.colourbox.de/preview/4179498-pig-on-a-donkey.jpg
You may see, may smell but never have. It´s a hopeless endeavor for most of the users. And that doesn´t sit entirely right with me. Yes, a super rare item should be quite expensive but at least attainable. There isn´t a lot of fun in running after a single item for many years and not beeing able to buy anything else. That´s the main problem.
I LIKE a good and hard challenge, I really really do, but it should be manageable without either throwing out a lot of real money or spending half of your life doing it.
As a few users already stated there aren´t that many people who could buy these items. And even them would not be able to do so easily. For me the target group is by far too small.

@Archimedes Those godlies are basically collector's items; you don't need them at all for battling. If you want a fire blocking godly like the wrath, you can get Natasha in the mil center for 750 mil. If you want a water-blocking godly like the sword, you can get a Manifesting Weapon from defeating Rouland around Halloween or by buying it from another member for (right now) around 600 mil. Still expensive, but not almost-four-bil expensive.
Okay, lets do a little math here:
I earn 3-4 million sp a day. And I´m doing all the quests, sell items and play games. Ten pets have a job. This makes ca. 1.277.500.000 sp a year if I won´t miss a day. So.... I have to do all this for 3 years if I want to get a single godly weapon (and a single item in total!)?
Seems a bit... well think for yourself....

Can you imagine the tax random event would have a field day with this XD. Every time I try to save up enough for an expensive item Sebastian can show up to take it XD. It's a full time job just for me just trying to earn enough each day to train my battle pets and working on site goals. There are a lot of wonderful items in the Antique Shop but I don't see anything I really need right now. Congrats to those that can purchase what they need from there :).
What is this monopoly you guys are playing with us?!?! Those prices are much funny. (Or not?)
I want the Sword Of the Seven Seas but have been trying to get my hands on Baal lately. (No way i ever win that thing myself) I must pass everything in this shop, but thank you for giving us a change at these stuff again.

Thank you Subeta team for bringing these items to a SP shop! The items are no more than the Millionaire Center items! Rare items are expensive her and in real life! oh well! I'll have to sell more duplicate rare items to buy some stuff!

This shop is great. Some of these items were impossible to get before, and some couldn't even be bought. Doesn't look like a shop I will be using very often, if ever, but at least there is a chance to get some things that were out of reach before. The prices seem outrageous, yes, but being that the high prices correlate to never being able to buy these thing sin the first place, I guess it may be fair.

And in case anyone asks about the Plushie I bought from the Antique shop, there wasn't any of it in the shops or in the Trade Center and hasn't been in all the time I've been wanting it (which was A LONG TIME), so getting the chance to nab it to add to gallery made me smile big. While I almost lamented over the Keetot, I found it at a very reasonable price in the shops, and from what I can see, there's around four of 'em left if anyone wants to get them at their current price there.
Y'know, just sayin'. ;)
Y'know, just sayin'. ;)

@Survivor Nah I'm not about a high score table for total spending. That's just like "The richest user wins" kind of nonsense. But I would be all about achievements. That's basically just like the Millionaire Center, and woo more achievements. Attach a forum title to it, and I'd be all over that shit.
@Ariel @Amber
"ANTIQUE ROAD SHOW"
give me that title. I want that. bye.

I was excited for this cause I thought I would be able to afford some minions I've wanted but nope. These went from "never able to get" to "still not able to get".

@Ariel
Ahhh, I think I understand the reasoning. :)
~
No one needs to know how much a person(s) spend on shit. period!
( probably why no one knows who exactly is the richest user [ unless that person tells ] ).

I am totally for having the X amount has been spent here in the Antique Shop ( hell wouldnt mind the MC too ), but the other about Biggest spenders : Im sorry, not no, but hell no.Have you considered adding a total to the shop? Like A total of xx,xxx,xxx,xxx sP has been spent here.
Or even one-up that and have a "high score" table for the biggest spenders.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get stuff that was so old, it just was not available anymore <3 I can't afford stuff yet, but I do have some goals now ^.^

I hope you enjoy your purchase! I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Pirate Legeica Plushie
I caved and bought it because my birthday is next Satuarday and I wanted to get me an early Birthday Present. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Besides, I had about 106 mil in my bank that I hadn't spent in a while, and that's one of the only Pirate items I wanted back in the RW that I didn't get, so I was FINALLY happy to get it!
Hopefully, the Battle Loot from some of the event battlers will be there too. I'd really like to add some of those things to my gallery. :smiley:
