Hanako's is very pretty, but I'm afraid I wnt be using it. The changes to the face make it much too adult. If you look at the old torrent, it's a goofy little beast. <br />

I intentionally gave him a more muscular body, to keep it from resembling /so/ strongly other places and their fishes. Alnog with the muscular body comes the deeper sea style fins (though I do think your side fins are completely gorgeous. <br />

This one was chosen as the best looking. (Though the lamp on yours, the torrent is looking at it. Pets are supposed to focus on the screen. If I used your redline, the poor beast would have the lamp in it's face, obstructing it's view.)<br />

Pectoral Fins-I think making them flowly helps them to match with the tail and dorsal fin. Same with the larger curves making it more graceful. I also moved them up a bit further on the body so they look more like fins rather than flippers.<br />
Dorsal Fin-I lessened the extent to which it bent and stretched :3 My other comment I believed explained the reason.<br />
Eyes-I raised it's left eye a bit to level it with it's right eye same with the eyebrow. I changed the direction that it was looking as I liked how the old one seemed to be looking at something and this adjustment doesn't affect the more nuetral emotions that the pets have.<br />
Head-I added gills as it breaks the image a bit. I lessened the amount the cheek jutted out as I think that is what made it look somewhat detached and unfish like as well fish don't have defined cheeks. I lessened the nose dip by the slighest.<br />
Body-I made it slightly thinner on the left side and added a small line on the right which tapers out to show that it's bending.<br />
Shading-I did these to sort of show you what I meant. The adujstments may be a bit hard to see with the faded image but I removed the shading along the side of the body and rounded the shadow on the nose so the nose doesn't jut out as much :3<br />

This maybe because of the change in the body from the previous image as the whole Torrent was very cartoon like. The face was one of the features that did make it distingushable. So there are two ways I believe that may help it blend a bit better is either making the body a but more cartoon to match the face or make the face more realistic. <br />

One of the reasons the jewel might of been taken out was because a lot of people last time said the jewel on the forehead looked tacky if I remember correctly.<br />

The fin isn't actually meant to be blue. It is meant to convey the illusion of a semi-transparent membrane. O.O And the current Torrent looks like a 2 dimensional, flat comic picture that my child colored. Absolutely no offense to whomever drew the original. But that is how things improve. You start basic, see what you can do and what the demand is like and improve upon it. The tail is very graceful and Koi-like, giving it the necessary point of floating/swimming in water. The fins remind me quite strongly of catfish, who have thick barbs on their fins. This fish's strong, shortened, muscular body definitely matches the fins and adds depth to the animal. The face was drawn to make it not so much like a drawing of a fish and more like a drawing of a Subetian creature with purpose and personality. I adore it, even though I have all the pets I want. She did a marvelous job..it is so creative and I would not want to do a thing to hurt her feelings. O.O

Ooo, it's pretty now! I'm sort of in agreement that the head doesn't seem to incorporate smoothly with the rest of the body, though... maybe add just a couple more tiny orange freckly-splotches right at the front base of the dorsal fin, or something to that effect? But that's just a minor quibble, and I still plan to vote new. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif border=0> Gorgeous work!

Hmm... I sorta like the old remake of this over this one... The blue fin doesn't fit with the rest of the coloration. If it was gold or yellow it would fit. Only other thing I have to complain about is the eyes. They're too human looking.

I like the body of the new design, but the head looks... Out of place. With the older style it all ran, as the head was a similar style to the body. How ever, with this new one, the head seems a little bit disjointed from the body in my opinion, and not very fish-like. If the head were changed to suit the style of the body- it strikes me as looking more like that of a dolphin- and the eyes were back to gold, then the change would have my full support.
