The velosotor and devonti have received a bit of an update in their common poses! The devonti is also now available in Nuclear and Marsh. The velosotor should be available in these colors soon.

Whip; I don't think we should be shamed. XD If there are many people on a petsite who keep elaborating on a critique of a picture, then there might just be something to it. <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0> For one, whenever you're an artist on a petsite, your work IS going to be critiqued whether you like it or not. Some people are always going to dislike your work, while others will like it. I know this because I work as an artist on two petsites currently, and I get critiqued all the time: not just by users, but fellow staff, as well. Being an artist on a petsite isn't supposed to cater to your own personal wants and needs, but those of the users as well. I don't think the users should be shamed for not liking something, especially if it was changed without a poll.

I just found out about the devonti revamp :3 I think it looks rather nice with those cleaned up lines. I still have no idea how you guys make your lineart so sharp! I think the only thing is that there is a tad too much shading on the legs so it looks a little messy there. Also what everyone is saying with the muzzle about it being longer. I don't think it is. Just the the bottom of the upper lip juts out instead of curving in giving it a different look. They really did need a revamp though XD

Shame on you all - The artist obviously worked very hard on keeping the Devonti the same, and you repeatedly criticize over the tiniest little things. How would you feel is you posted your art for thousands to see and just have people say "oh it sucks, the nose is slightly off, try again" It is a very very slight change, and you only hate it because you are looking for something to hate. She worked very hard to keep it pretty much the same, and still you find no positive feedback. I for one like the new Devonti; it matches the style of the other pets better than the old one, which was rather outdated. Besides, there are 82 species to choose from, and in many many colours. If you do not like this particular one, surely there is another <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sigh.gif border=0>

The muzzle on the Devonti looks more like the shape of a bill on a duck. Still don't like the new look Velosotor though which is disappointing as I've been waiting over a year for the Hydras one to come out.

It may be the exact same size, but I think the problem is that the lines are smaller and the mouth isn't as cute and happy as the old one looked. I mostly dislike it because the fur just seems so flat and "scraggly", like it's just jumped into some water and let itself drip dry... it just doesn't look as nice as the "old" devonti did, in my opinion. Which is why I'm glad I changed Shut to spectrum before the revamp. ;3

That little bit of neck showing on the devonti is what makes the head "look big" it's the same size.

The Devonti looks pretty good. The ears seem a tad bit big to me and the snout too.
As for the velosotor... Its not as good as I thought... The neck is somewhat thick and the arms are small. The snout is what really threw me off though. The smile just doesn't seem fitting and the tip is a tad too pointy for my liking. The back of the head seems to have gone a bit too far. The Devonti has been changed from an adorable cuddly pet to an animal with an obnoxious snout. It's fine that we get upset about these things because our pets are very personal to us. And it's bad if I can't even stand to look at my pet anymore. PLEASE - with all that is good and holy don't you dare change the Angelic that I just spent 13 million for or the Chibi. The faces on these and the Bloodred should be a template for how the others SHOULD look. Just because it IS a barnyard animal doesn't mean it has to look like one.

Oh, and I don't like the new Twilight Velosotor as much, either. The old one was black with light blue stripes, the new one is black with darker blue stripes. The color scheme just isn't as pretty as it was before.

Whats wrong with arid? All of the devonti colours (except nuclear,) follow a specific pattern. Their long coat fur is a lighter colour of the fur on the face and legs, with accent colours on the horns. A few of the old ones, like lilac (and arid, apparently? ) had... the same colour everything. Lilac had a purple face with a lighter purple coat, and purple horns. (and I think purple eyes.) It looked colour filtered.

I love is Devonti to death. It's cute without being "KAWAII!!" and manages a bit of sweet dignity that doesn't automatically remind someone of a deer. Also, the feet are no longer hilarious, the fur looks like fur without being super shiny (and uncharacteristic) or grossly matted/wooly. I liked the Devonti (except the feet and redraws are so so) before, and I like this one much better.

I think what really needs to be done is to make it seem more front-facing, to match the angle of the devonti, because right now it seems a little sideways to me. Digi...you weren't the one that set me over the edge. It isn't even just this comments section that made me upset. I have seen three different users tell others to shut up in the comments section in the past two days and I find it rude and obnoxious. I agree 100% with you that crits should be a valid critique not just a "it's bad" or "it's horrible" with nothing suggested to make it better. That doesn't help the artists at all and makes us all seem like a bunch of crybabies who just don't like change for no good reason. I know and understand that the artists worked hard on the Devonti revamp, but it just doesn't match the standards we have set, based on the other pets. I, personally, dislike the long(and ugly, in my opinion) nose on the Devonti. It makes its face look off-center and unbalanced.

The Velosotor is very nicely drawn, however, I wouldn't have used such dark colors as people may not be able to see any details. They may just see a silhouette of a perfectly beautiful pet. The only flaw I see in this is the 'grin' on its face. It makes it look a little silly, and I imagined the Velosotor as ferocious.

I am sorry if I upset anyone. I just don't think it's really that fair to jump to "it's horrible" just because it's a little different...I do think the muzzle could be fixed up a little, but personally it bothers me less than the other one (which to me seemed to attach a little funny, but that's my opinion). But also, I don't think it'd be fair to only allow the owners to vote, considering that many people may consider getting a pet if it is revamped. For example, I do not like the old malticorn, but if this revamp goes through I will definitely be considering getting one. The Velosotor revamp is simply beautiful.
The Devonti is nice too, but i have a few problems. The fir does look a lot more clean cut, but it's just, for lack of better words, less-fluffy than the original. I much rather preferred the more stout and round Devonti over the square-shaped current body. Also, the nose is too long, making its' face look similar a dogs'.

Actually, no, it's <i>not</i> a llama, it's a devonti. It can look as un-llama like as it can and still be a devonti. It may look based upon a real animal, but it is not a real animal and therefore, can look like anything and look as little as the real animal it's based on and be a devonti. I love its new nose. +)

I personally think all the revamp qualities are normally better thn the older pics. And the "special color" revamps are always really good. No picture is perfect, and I'd go on to guess the artists spent awhile on these.

I never told anyone to shut up. o.o But when people say the art is hideous or whatever simply because it's not the personality of their pet or they just aren't used to it, THAT is rude. I understand it's a change and it can be hard to adjust or whatever, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's okay to say that it's awful, because not liking the change is different than the art being downright "bad" or "awful." And also, the artists aren't being rushed. Different artists draw different pets at their own pace. If the artists were being rushed, all the torrent, sheeta, ontra, and other revamps would have all been completed by now. The feli would have also been revamped. However, the artists take their time to give you the best they can give. There is no proof that they are being rushed.

I think the Devonti could use less black lines in its fur, and just use dark brown. Pretty minor, though. I just think it'd pull off the fluffy look better than this.

If you say it looks hideous and then explain why you feel that way it is a genuine critique. Just outright saying "I hate it" with no reason or suggestions for improvements is rude as well, but still an opinion that is allowed to be expressed. I know the artists must cringe reading the comments, but that still doesn't give you the right to tell others to shut up about how they feel.

the bluish haze that surrounds the angelic is what I love about it! I almost made MidoriSour a devonti and turned her angelic because of the colored line art on it. It looks all soft and fuzzy and cuddly and...Dawwww. I'm sure they will be revamping it because of the colored line art and I feel that is a true tragedy for the species as a whole. As for the sometimes harsh crits here...well as long as the person is stating why they feel the new version is "ugly" or "bad" than it should be taken as what it is...a criticism. Not as an attack. yes, the artists all work very hard here and yes, they are human and not machines...but they also have to expect that when they change someones beloved pet they will get feedback and not all of it will be happy happy joy joy type of feedback. Beyond that, when the exact same thing is stated by numerous users as being "off" or "wrong" or in need of some fine tuning, it would behoove the artists to actually listen to them and take the comments into consideration. If that many people have an issue with it...maybe just maybe it does need some tweaking. Now, all that said, the new art is lovely as art itself goes, but there is still room for improvement according to most of the comments seen here. I do not own either of these pets so I have no personal stake in either revamp, but I do still have opinions and I do still appreciate that the staff here seems to listen to them(everyones opinion that is) and really try to keep us happy and in love with our pets. I think the Velosotor revamp is great as it looks more meaty and substantial now. The old one looked almost frail to me and very childlike. The Devonti looks great, but I agree that the changes to the muzzle make it look too doglike and older for some reason. It isn't as floofy, but it still looks snuggle worthy so I like that. It's just the face that gives me pause.

It isn't that the art is bad! The art is wonderful. It's amazing. Very well done on both pets. They just aren't the pets people got before (I know, obviously) and so the revaps are unsasfactory. If these were brand new species they'd be met with cheers and hazzahs.

Both of these revamps are amazing. The old devonti's fur was pasty and had way too many dark lines. This one's fur lays MUCH more naturally on the body, and doesn't seem so...sticky. XD However, it's extremely depressing how people have to be so offensive in their comments. It's "ugly", "awful", "I'm glad I got rid of my devonti." Sometimes I wonder where courteousness went these days. I would like to know how you people would feel if you spent hours on something and people simply threw nasty comments at you like that. ... :l Not to be a total suckup (XD) but I reallly DO like the new Devonti. Just because ONE thing (The face, I admit) looks off, does not mean that everything about it is horrible and ugly. If the staff gets enough feedback about ONE THING (the face, again) then they usually WILL change it. But if everyone's mouthing off about how horrible it is OH NOES, well, they might just think you're being ignorant :/ The fur on the Devonti has SOOO much detail in it, as well as the horns. The artists are PEOPLE, not machines. And you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time. But, you yall want, put up a poll. It'll probably be just like the Mallarchy one -shrugs-

And for the record, people who want polls for all changes.... That's ridiculous because we had a poll for the Kanis and I voted for the old one and lost. It's not really about us being all democratic because that's silly. I just found a colour of the revamped Kanis I really liked and changed Lickity. by biggest problem is with the Devonti, like the Dragon, we had zero say in it. and even though this is being called a slight change, as you can see, MOST of us Devonti owners do not view it as slight. the face and coat look completly different to us, and we would have liked to have been able to fight for it.

The old devonti was MUCH better. It has lost like a half of it's fluffyness. They have less hair and I miss their more delicate nose.
All the remakes are making the pets look fat and muscular. I prefer the old ones because they were more delicate and their forms were cuter.

I don't really like the new velosotor. My friend has a chibi and she hopes they don't change it unless they make it look cuter. I think the only reason she didn't like it was because they look more male-ish and her's is a female. The devonti, i don't really think they look that much different but it doesn't bother me. (i dont have either pet) For some reason, i think that the charlie needs a revamp it hasn't gotten much love lately....... but anyway, good job artists!

Although, I must admit, even though I have a spectrum velosotor, I'd like to see a huge revamp on it, because I got it more to match an old character then because I liked it. Where is the rainbow trail..it's all plain, and just standing there. I hope to see a vicious bloody bloodred one rather 'look, I'm in the same pose, now I just have a little blood drawn in while I smile innocently and sweetly without it being even a little creepy.' So over all I'm really worried for the updates of the non-static colors, but I'm excited for some. Please artists, get working on more Velesotor colors, I'd like to change more of my pets into them in the style of the updated common ^^, and please, put good effort in it. I seems you all put less effort if its a pet I love(velosotor, mortiking, serpenth) while giving all the time to the ones I despise, making them in every color and giving them a ton of items and characters r_r. Yay! I can not tell you how happy I am that the Velosotor got a revamp. I hated the original design from the second I joined this site. XD Now it looks like an actual dinosaur! I will definately get one now. :3 The Devonti didn't get a poll though, did it? I think that's unfair. But that being said, I do like the new look. Well done on the Devonti! I'm not much of a fan, never was, but this is an improvement. I love the scraggy fur, and the horns, even the face is quite good. Most of all I love the sharpness and briskness of the drawings, both of them. I'd like to give a huge pat on the back to the artist responsible for these.

WHAT? just up and change the Devonti without a poll? unless i've gone completly blind in the last few days! the nose makes the whole face look completly different, also the hind area should be fluffy, and with a poll that could have been changed for us.<br /><br />

The devonti is fine but I think it could be a tad bit poofier. Other than that I say they're good revamps. I really like the sun and twilight velosotors.

Not to fond of the Devonti's nose or muzzle. Can't put my finger on it. It just seems off. But I'll get used to it. I just can't see my featheraries being anything else. And that was my first pet on here.

I have to say that the revamp of the devonti is not the best, in my opinion. Dx I do agree that it should be "fluffier" in the body region, but also... the face is off. It looks like the whole jaw is too big to be on its face, and I think it should be slimmed down a bit. :V So I disagree with the revamp.

The revamped velosotor wasn't changed since the poll. It still looks more like a tyrannosaurus or something akin to that, not a raptor. Also, that smile creeps me out.

I think the problem people are coming up against with the head looking too big is really how the snout and ears are so large; its' not the actually HEAD, just parts of it.. does that make sense?

Both revamps are lovely! The Velo looks a lot more proportional! My only 'two-cents' would be along with the other few comments that the Devonti's head looks a little large, or the mouth a bit too elongated? Not entirely sure. But the body, art and fuzzies are so perfect! =D
