Camp Veta 2016: Voting
Submissions for Camp Veta 2016 have officially closed and I’ve got to say voting is going to be hard because there are tons of great submissions. I’m so proud of everyone that joined in!
You can vote here. Each camper has 25 votes to use on entries, but can only vote once on any given entry. No putting all 25 votes towards your favorite entry, sorry! There are no limitations on how many you can vote per category, so it’s up to you on how you want to divide your votes.
You have until 11:59pm on August 24th to use your 25 votes.
All prizes will be given out on the 25th. Just a reminder that all participants will receive a participation ribbon that will appear along with your other trophies and medals on your profile along with a forum title of wants s’more. The top three voted people in each category will receive a trophy, a special forum title pitched a tent, and 500 cash shop credits.

I was torn between what to do and decided to go with writing because I love it and is far more creative than doing an HA but seems like most people won't even bother reading and I knew that would happen but still it is very sad for all those spend days writing a story just to be ignored. I gave 5 votes to each category since it is the most fair thing to do. I understand many people don't have the time to read all the stories and that they are many but please try at least read a few, there are lots of fun stories there.
Congrats to all participating. Loved all the sculptures and drawings- was very hard to pick just five.
The writing area could be better arranged next time, it's a complete mess to read it and remember what you liked in the first place.

Question: It's telling me I've made 25 votes, but when I count them I only have twenty votes, and since it thinks I made 25 it won't let me cast the last 5. Is anyone else having this issue? (earlier it was even telling me I had 27 when I only had 18 -.-)
Was everyone who entered the Human Avatar section put in the Human Avatar section? Sooo many. I didn't know about the sculptures, they were so fun too look through.

I'm super curious how many votes the writing section will get in comparison to the other ones...
this is the part where I really wish we could have titled our avatar entries xD

I put 5 votes per category. :) I took the time to scan the writing part as well. Writing to me takes as much work if not more. (Im someone who likes a good story, but sadly doesn't have the skill to write well)
Man. Writing is my strong suit, and I had no idea there were going to be so many stories! I expected more HA's than anything. That being said, the CW people seemed to not use that category to their advantage.
Sculpting and drawing have so many amazing entries omg. I have 6 votes left, and I think I'm gonna spend some time in writing and breeze back through the drawings. Writing, drawing, and sculpting, IMO, deserve lots of love.

I'm putting most of my votes into the writing category, because it seems like a lot of people aren't bothering to read through them all. It looks like the order of the stories changes every time you refresh the page/switch to a different category and then switch back, so I've just been reading the first 3 or 4 stories each time I load the category. It's really helped me, so maybe that strategy will help others get through more of the stories as well! c: Lots of really talented writers so far, it'd be a shame if they didn't get read!
Every time there's a competition without a participation prize, I think it'd be nice to have at least something for folks who don't win.

I am a dunce at coding, but for future contests, is there anyway to have options that include "like, don't like, maybe" or "yes, no, maybe"? And once you've "sorted" them, then you can go back and vote -with them now being in that order starting under the unsorted entries (or, if your like pile is too big, sort down again). It would make it easier for people to vote in pieces, as they get a few minutes as well as to keep track of entries. Random is all well and good, but a bitch when you have a ton of entries...and then trying to find the stories/ha you liked in all that mess. Even worse if you have to read sections over days and then try and remember what was what. ^.^
There are some fantastic entries...kudos to those who put in a lot of thought and effort. I know that having merely submitted an HA, my work wasn't 'grueling'...and probably not adventurous enough....but I spent hours upon hours of searching for items and trying many different ideas...I have no doubt that a lot of contest participants did as well....so, Great job to everyone who put thought and effort into whatever you submitted.....GOOD LUCK to all <3
Omg there are so many writing entries! XD I expected there to be a bazillion HAs but I'm just surprised there weren't a whole lot of art and sculpture entries.
Maybe I should have done a picture instead of a story after all, haha.

@Bathory That's good on you you wrote a story, takes more time and creative effort to be physical about these contests. I honestly just did an HA that seems basic camp-theme, so I have no expectations. But I really think there should have been an extra prize for those that did the writing, sculpting and drawing, because those take up more time and again labor.

Unimpressed with a lot of the HA entries - especially the CWs. (though lol now I'm worried people will think mine's not adventure-y enough, it's not a jungle!) there were a few good regular HA entries, and the sculptures were amazing! And the drawings were neat too! I cannot focus long enough to read the writing ones right now. Hopefully I'll get my glasses fixed in time to check them out

@Dice I was meaning the ones who clearly just entered their current HA and didn't put effort into it at all, but it could be argued that they weren't actually participating but just wanted the participation prizes. I voted for those that clearly put effort into their entries, I'll clarify I guess :)

Got most of my votes in, and I'm now slogging through the writing entries. I'm determined to vote for at least one.

Huh yeah, the randomness is weird. There seems to be 3 set 'randomisations' for each category.
Is it the same for everyone? Sculpture seems to rotate between Laure's adventures, Experiment #164 and Elwood in first place. They're spread out about 1/3rd through the voting so I guess the sequence to set and it just moves between the three orders.

Did 10 in total, and scrolled past anything that didn't have anything to do with camp or could be considered to do with camp.

Loads non CW HA entries Holy crap RIP computer.. and a lot of these seem to have nothing to do with Camp? Might just be me. But I can't wait to see what everyone did. And to those that did all the actual physical labor of writing, sculpting & drawing and put how much time into your entries, honestly you're already winners far as I'm concerned because that's a lot of effort. Good luck, everyone.
It would be nice if the order was completely random, especially with the HAs and the writing. There are so many entries, and if people don't want to scroll all the way down to the bottom...
I just want to say that in the sculpture and the drawing categories, you ALL did an amazing job and that I wish I could vote for you just for the extra time and effort that went into each one!!

There seem to be a lot of HAs that...well...aren't adventure-related at all. And mine, which is adventure-related, is so near the end of the list, I doubt I'll get seen much. shrug Oh well, hello participation prize at least. :)
