Not really diggin' the new GY Magnus as much as the old one. Old seem to have a certain charm and look that I wish was transfered to the new one. Like the same pose and the likes as of the old one.<br />

eh...I really prefer the old magnus to this one. The old was skinny, smooth, and refined. Overall, the old one just had a better body shape. This one is a lot bulkier. Granted, the coloring wasn't amazing but I liked the simplicity. Also, the back legs on the old one look like they are sitting and the back legs on the new one just look too short. Plus the long sharp horns were lost in the revamp. And the stone looks kind of strange in some places like the mouth. I prefer the patchwork skin look instead. I guess this is all personal stuff but others may feel this was too. I was planning on getting a graveyard magnus but after this revamp, i'm just not sure anymore.

They took away all the qualities I liked in the old Magnus. They did put alot of detail in it but it is nothing like it used to be. I could see how a person who didn't own a graveyard magnus before would like it. I never did like the original color revamp either. They look fat.

I think that maybe that since the Magnus is a gargoyle, it was the artist's way of trying to make it look more stone like, with a pebbly stone skin instead of actual scales or skin...<br />

I went through the same thing you're going through a few days ago when the reborn Keeto was revamped, only I accepted the revamp, just didn't like certain aspets of it.<br />
But I came to realize something, something very, very important:<br />
Subeta is an EVOLVING site.<br />
Meaning? Meaning that it is constantly going through renewals and revamps in order to get the best art available, in order to keep the pets looking up to date and wonderful, and in order to not have old art being the "official" art, because, when its really, really old, it actually looks really unofficial, too.<br />
And you should all be glad we actually have to option to recode in order to keep the old images! Most sites won't let you do that, you're stuck with whichever revamp comes along.<br />
So you all, do what I did. Take a deep breath, walk away from the computer, stop stressing over it, and then come back when you start thinking rationally.<br />
Remember: Even in nature, nothing stays the same. You have to get used to change eventually.

I thought the point of revamping is to get the old image off the site.. so clinging onto it like that (whether through code change or brining it back in a different "colour") defeats the purpose of revamping at all? o.o

Zoshi, that only solves the problem in one place. The coding doesn't change the image you see when you go to the 'Pets' section on the sidebar or when you go see the training guy. I can handle it for my reborn tigrean, since he is at the bottom of my page and I only see him if I have to change something on his page or whatever.<br /> Coding is NOT a cure-all for owners of the pet.

They are drawn really well. I don't like them because I dislike all Graveyard pets. Personally, I find them disgusting. But, I think that is their job...to be gross and disgusting. It's just not for me!<br />

I never thought of Magnuses being stone through and through - more like stone on the outside, but alive underneath. When I said "inorganic" before, I meant that the decay is inorganic. I get turned off by guts hanging out and stuff XP

However, it does lack a bit of a... cocky personality that the older one had. Honestly, I like both versions, but it seems like they're two different species, due to looks and personality.<p />On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of either Chai, but this one at least looks a little better, since I like the foot caught in the bear trap look.

Chrissacide, you can always use the coding to keep your pet's image the old GY Chai, you know. There's no need to make a potion/option to specifically change pets to the old designs. You can change the code on the pets site, and on your user page as well if you're using the V2 layout...

Wow. Such drastic changes, and to but truthful I don't like them at all. I had fallen in love with the old GY Magnus and have been saving to make Conquers into one. Sure, it looks more like a Magnus now, but the art just... as another user mentioned, there's too much detail. I wish we could vote.

I don't think animals nor humans rising form the dead after years of being burried are supposed to look cute or cuddly(like the old GY Chai, for example). We don't make "sexy" or "cute" zombies, so all the GY pets who have this kind of "cute" old art ARE subject to be changed. We're changing them for the sake of constancy, and because rotting, dead people aren't -cute-.

Like it's arms and legs and head got chopped off and sewn back on in a way so now what was once its chest is now its back, and what was once its back is now it's chest. Plus... I purchased a Gold Account specifically to have a Graveyard Chai, and her name fit perfectly. And she was morphed into this...this...Thing, without any warning or any option to convert her back to her previous beauty. It doesn't matter that "Graveyard pets are supposed to be ugly". This one WASN'T, and it was very well LOVED for that fact. Now, I can't stand to look at her. I feel as though I wasted all the time it took to earn her potion.<br />

I don't mind the Magnus. In fact, I think it looks rather nice. But not nice enough to waste time and money morphing Porcelaine into one. The art would likely change by the time I was happy with her again, anyways. And I'm positive that the people who spent their time, effort, and sP to make their pets into lovely Graveyard Magnuses are as upset as I am. A little warning, or some compensation would be nice. An "unpaint" option or "revert to previous artform" would be nice. Unrealistic, but nice. <br />

To be perfectly honest, I'm still furious. But I'm not seeing red as I was earlier in the day. Perhaps I'm overreacting. I can't honestly care if people believe so. Since I can't have children, my pets are like my children. And my little girl is now a beast. <br />

Most people who feel this way aren't bold enough to say it. But I'm already in a bad mood, and I believe that it was wrong to change these "outdated" pets. And to be honest...how hard is to to adjust the same design to a new artstyle? Changing the ENTIRE design was uncalled for. The artists are all unique, and I understand that they each have their own styles and designs that they wish to incorporate...but what about the users? I'm still very frustrated and furious at these redraws. I suppose I've just been blessed that my other babies haven't been completely ruined. <br />

Perhaps the artists can come up with a "dark" or "spooky" potion to give us back the old Graveyard Chais? It was the dark beauty that drew me to them in the first place. This cartoony "mutant" style is like the fanciful afterthoughts of a young boy, soon after seeing his first scary movie. The Chai was the only one that I liked, simply because of the beauty.

I don't think they can poll every single time they revamp a pet color. No one would ever agree and we would never get new re-draws. I don't want a unified look on the pets - that would be boring and THAT would be like a Neo re-draw. Variety is the spice of life, ya know!

These are absolutely GORGEOUS! I love them so much! Kudos to the artists, they're lovely. I especially love the Chai's trap, and how the vines on it's head are long. It's just perfect. And the Magnus is just beautiful. I love how it looks hollow and aged - absolutely beautiful, artists! (:

Woah, you can really see the difference in mine and DNA's art styles with these two xD The Chai IS a rather cartoony pet, though. I must agree with dundalk, the fact that we are able to vote for the revamps of the whole species but not when the colours are changed seems a little awkward - I mean, the colors are as important as the species. But I must say these are great art, I wouldn't be able to draw like the. But maybe it should be considered with polls for changes in the looks of colors as well? Im not really a huge fan of GY pets. The Chai doesnt really do it for me. I dont really like it, actually. I dont know what it is, whether it is the pose, the trap or the lineart itself and how it is colored, but it just seems... off.<br />

Just to be clear - I don't have a problem with Graveyard pets. I LOVE this Magnus. I even like the Chai overall. I just wish that trap wasn't there. I don't think it jives well with Subeta overall.

Awesome. The poor Chai look like he is sad in becoming a zombie, and in pain due to the leg trap cruelty (Subeta makes you think about how bad is using cruel traps for hunting, or sport hunting at all, hunt should be reserved to those who need it to live). And the GY Magnus looks like an old, rotting, and cracking gargoyle. But it's quite amused to be one, which is quite uncommon with GY pets, since they are or sad, or really, really angry. Maybe it's something from the Magnus themselves to be proud of becoming rotting gargoyles...

GY pets are supposed to be wrong, so I don't mnd the bear trap one little bit, but the rest of the chai looks a bit simple. Maybe it's because the Magnus just beside it is draw in a style that I prefer though.<br />
And about the Magnus...it really needed a revamp. I liked the old one, but it was outdated. I miss the old bright green eye, but otherwise, I'd say I like it after looking at it for a while. The only thing that seems strange to me is the right horn. It's a bit too bloated. I liked the old one better that was longer and straight. But that's a detail.

I was expecting a revamp for the Magnus. But i didnt expect it to be /that/ different. It looks much more like a gargoyle now. However, i do believe the stone effect looks a little overdone on it. On the other Magnuses, the effect isnt quite as shiny<br />
Its hard for me to explain this what i think about the style its shaded. I do think it looks more like the Mangus is made of brand new rocks, rather than older, abandoned ones. It would probably look better if it didnt shine so much, so the stone effect on the shading doesnt stand out as much. Therefore, the stones dont look freshly cut, or well cared for.

Magnus is beautiful and this revamp matches the gargoyle nature of the pet...I was looking at the older version and thought it was a Dragarth or a Dragon! XD Great job on the Magnus <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> If Fushi's name fit just a little bit better, she'd be on her way to becoming GY XD<br />

As to the Chai...I don't have so much of a problem with the /trap/ as I do the odd angle of the leg. It just really sticks out strangely, especially given the awkward manner in which the trap seems to be going all the way /through/ the leg. <br />

The rest of the Chai suits me just fine...though I do think it was a bit unfair to place it next to the more intense Magnus <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" /> They're just two entirely different art styles <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" />

*wails* These make me a wee bit sad... The Chai... burns my eyes. ._. It looks so saggy and... just plain eww. The Magnus looks a bit better than the Chai, though... So good job on that. =D

The magnus looks limpy... It was wonderful before, I didn't see a need to revamp it. ;; It just looks.... fat and lumpy. Nice art, but not my tastes at all.

I admit I haven't read all the comments but the Chai is just wrong. I like all of it but the leg trap. That's not funny. It's offensive, cruel and graphic. Leg traps are against the law in many states as they are an exceptionally cruel means of trapping. I'm sorry. I know most people won't see it this way - but I really wish you would do something about that trap. The idea for the Magnus is really cool, but the coloring... Oh God it truly hurts my eyes. x.x I understand it's 'gargoyle' nature, but the stone effect just doesn't work for me in this one.

well...as abstract art, it is superbly done. As pets...the thought of it is grotesque, outrageous, hideous, etc. ...That's why i'll never own a GY pet.<br />

the graveyard image are so different between the two. Chai looks more animated, Magnus looks more detailed and a bit more realistic. I love the magnus - looks like a cracked, old, 'alive' statue thingie.

That Magnus is absolutely stunning. What a complete step up in petsite art. That's not great-quality-but-standard pet colouring. That's... something completely new and breathtaking.<br />
