STORY

Mozart vaguely remembered the man coming to take him away. Of course he was very young, but he still remembered. Mozart was not happy at being woken up, that's for sure. He pulled a face, and yawned, before being put into a box and taken to a new home. He was curious about his new surroundings, but decided against exploring. Sleep seemed a much better idea.

Later in the day, Mozart finally began to look around. He decided he definitely did not like the big black object in one of the rooms. His owner was sitting at it, and making the most awful noise with it. His owner pressed the long things at the front, and sound came out. Mozart was not impressed.

It was later on that he discovered that thing was called a piano. He hated it. He hated the noise it made, and he hated even more that it disturbed his sleep. Even worse, there was more noise to come. A violin, of all things. Mozart couldn't decide which was worse, so he agreed with himself that they were both as bad as each other. Whenever his owner started to play, Mozart would run (well, I say run, but it was more of a fast waddle; he was rather overweight!) and try to find a quiet spot somewhere in the appartment.

There were good times though. His owner often went away, and then it was quiet. And Mozart was happy. He was well-loved, and well-fed, despite his rather grumpy disposition. His owner couldn't understand Mozart's hatred of music, and Mozart couldn't understand why his owner kept disrupting his sleep.

His owner spoke to Mozart one morning, "One day, you will grow to love what I do. I just know it." Mozart yawned, pulled a face and walked away, and curled up on his favourite pillow to get some sleep. His owner went into the next room, picked up the violin and began to play. Mozart let out a low, moaning sound and buried his head in his paws.
Sleep would not be easy today....
