You're more of a hero than I will ever be, and I don't regret sacrificing my life for you. Not at all. Even as you cradled my dying body in your arms, pleading me not to go, I knew I made the right decision. You were the Reploid that was going to bring peace to the world. It didn't matter if I had to cause us so much pain - I had to protect you at all costs. Even if I had to leave you. Especially if I did....

So why, X? Why are we in this bizarre new world? It wasn't supposed to be like this. You were supposed to lead Earth to a new age of humans and Reploids co-existing together in harmony. Now, we're trapped on a planet where magic is real and animals can talk. What of the remaining Mavericks and the rubble left behind in the war? What about our world?!

I know, I know, you don't know why we're here, either... but we have to figure it out. There is something inside me, X, something lying dormant that I fear one day may take control... and I have no idea how long I can keep it hidden. I don't want to endanger another planet with it, especially one as peaceful as this, and... I don't want you to have to be the one to stop it. There's no other Maverick Hunters here that could do it for you. The thought of one day forcing you to make such an impossible decision... to stare me dead in the eyes as you charge your cannon... it's too much for even me to bear.

But I know you, and I know I can't have you worrying about my problems. All you strive for is peace - you're a softie like that, X. So, if you want to help defend Subeta while we're stuck here, I guess I'm going to have to help. I shouldn't be, and none of this should be happening... but... I seem to forget all of this when I'm alongside you again.
