!!! PROFILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!

Once upon a time a human and her brother took the brother's two dogs to the dog park for the first time. Ok, so it was more like May 29, 2012 than once upon a time, but anyway, back to my story...

Shortly after arriving and after introducing themselves the brother and sister were approached by a woman they had only just met moments earlier. The woman asked the pair, "Do you guys want a kitten?"

"No, definitely not. I already have three cranky, old cats at home. Plus five dogs and 5 hamsters." replied the sister.

"Well, I was just asking because a man just walked up and set a box down on the picnic table and left. I had a bad feeling about it so, I looked in the box there are 3 little kittens in there. I believe two boys and one girl. Don't worry though because if no one here wants them I will take them until I can find them homes." stated the woman.

"That is just terrible! I am so glad you are taking them because if not I was going to offer to take them and find them homes." said the sister. With that said the woman walked around to check with everyone in the park and the brother and sister went back to playing with the dogs.

With it being their first time at a dog park the brother and sister left their drinks on the picnic tables outside of the dog park fence. When the sister got thirsty she went out to the picnic tables to retrieve her drink. That's when she saw the closed, red and white, cardboard "Office Max" box. She couldn't resist her curiosity and just had to take a peek inside at the poor abandoned kittens. Lifting the lid she felt a wave of heat escape from inside the box. With the lid off she immediately saw two fluffy orange kittens scurry out of sight into the corners of the box. In the center of the box she saw a fluffy, tiny kitten staring up at her with the biggest puppy dog eyes the sister had ever seen. Considering that it was a kitten and not a puppy the sister acknowledged the tiny kitten's great accomplishment with a gentle pat on her head.

The tiny kitten immediately began purring louder than the sister had ever heard a cat or kitten purr before and knew she just had to hold her. When the sister picked up the 1lb, 2.8oz ball of fluff, she knew that was it. This little creature had just forced her way into the sister's heart and she knew she had to try and make it work with the cranky cats at home. When the woman saw the sister holding the kitten she could see it in her face that the sister was in love with the little girl kitten. The woman was happy and promised to find great homes for the two brothers.

When she arrived home with the baby cat, the sister's cats were not pleased. They were upset as they thought they had raised their last kitten. The dogs on the other hand all instantly loved her and she loved them especially Rufus, the beagle/basset hound mix. By the next morning the little baby had squirmed her way into the hearts of the grouchy cats.

It took the sister a while to figure out just what to name the newest edition. She tried many names, but nothing seemed to fit. Eventually because of her sweet personality and gorgeous chocolate and peanut/caramel colored fur she finally settled on calling her Snickers. Named after the delicious chocolate coated, peanut and caramel candy bar.

So, how did you enjoy my story? In case you didn't guess, I was that little kitten abandoned at the dog park. Things could have ended so much differently and not to mention worse that fateful day. Mom (the sister in my story) says she hates the man that was heartless enough to just abandon me and my brothers, but is thankful that she was there the day that he did. I am now a 10 pound, long haired, adult cat. The three old cats that raised me (Dottie, Ebony, and KitKat) have sadly all since passed away, as well as the hamsters that were my close friends. Everyone left me just a few months apart. I was very sad and lonely so Mom decided I needed a companion and brought home a kitten. For a long time I really hated her, but she has really grown on me. I was lucky to have landed in such a wonderful home with a family so filled with love. I wouldn't have it any other way.
