During a battle between Shinwa and Darkheart Phantom Uma's parents hid her in some Mugwort while they went to fight. Unfortunately they would never be able to come back for their daughter. Uma would have been in peril if she had not been found by Cheri.

Cheri named the young Montre, Uma_Si, because it was all the Montre could say. Later Cheri would realize that Umasi was perhaps what Uma's mother or father were called.

Uma is too young to remember much about her parents or really about anything. She did take quite quickly to her new sister Cheri though. Beyond the occasional nightmare Uma lives a happy life with her new family.

Uma is a playful and happy baby. She loves being cuddled and going for rides on Cheri's back. Her vocabulary is growing and her new favorite words are Churri and pwushy.

Uma tends to scamper around and get into an amazingly large amount of mischief for someone her size. One day, after a particular worrisome couple of hours in which Uma was no where to be found, she ran back blissfully unaware over the worry she had caused her family. It was decided something must be done. Her old sister Aleksia came up with a plan and went searching for the perfect thing to keep tabs on her sister. After a day of searching Aleksia came flying back and something small and bright followed behind her. It was a baby Phoenix named Aya. Aya had just fledged from her nest but was still young enough she craved being around someone. Aleksia's plan was a simple one. Both babies would bond and stay with each other at all times. Aya's brilliant plumage would surely allow Aleksia and the others to keep tabs on them at all times. The other siblings were skeptical at first but shortly it became obvious that not only could they spot Aya flying over Uma from far away but also that Aya would lead Uma back home if she felt they got to far away from her new family.

So if one day you are wondering around and you here a little giggle and see a flash of light in the sky take a peek in the tall grass at your feet and you are sure to see Uma playing shadow tag with a phoenix overhead.
