Alarnia is a famous aristocrat who once owned several thriving companies. One of them was contracted to sell medicine to a faraway village suffering from a plague- they pooled up every remaining coin to be able to afford a cure, for their own magic could not cure them. Unfortunately, their delivery never arrived and almost everyone afflicted perished. This was no accident- someone caused the plague and had influenced some of the executives to illegally sell the shipment to give them a much longer-lasting profit. One of the old sorceresses of the town watched helplessly as her family and friends perished around her. She tracked down Alarnia and cursed him: he would reflect his "coldness" by becoming Glacier (also becoming immortal) and lose everything that he ever loved in his life- including his business, his brother, and his lover. Ever since then, the poor guy has been frigid and cold to those around him, mostly out of fear from losing anyone else who gets too close. Even though he had no involvement of the scandal, many found him responsible and absolutely hate him for what he "did". The bad press, along with the loss of his loved ones, caused him to despise himself as well.
