Chi Ku means to "eat bitterness" or swallow hardship. He just makes me happy when I'm dodging my life on Subeta haha and serves as a reminder to get my priorities straight. He also reminds me of one of my new favorite movies,
The Babadook, which is about a woman who in dealing with strife stifles too much, and this negative energy substantiates as a demon-like character. Chi Ku is about picking your battles in both senses-- ignoring what needs to be ignored yet speaking up when something moves you. It is a balance with no clear line, rather a Venn diagram of possible outcomes.
If it's in a word or in a look, you can't get rid of the Babadook
