Qihanna Verraj' and her older sister Tisseira, an apprentice healer, were stuck on Pennarion in Dimension 52 when the civil war broke out. Qihanna spent most of the war at an inland military academy while her sister was on the front lines healing everyone, but when the war was over and Tainell Asturien became Imperator, she went to Panarcanium Polytechnic University at La Cyr, where she began her work and studies with Stanford and Valiska Pines of the Interdimensional Physics faculty (who were very relieved to be able to return to academic life).

Then one fine summer day, a rift opened up and Stanford Pines disappeared. His brother, in their home dimension, had opened a long-closed portal and summoned him back, whether he liked it or not. (He didn't, much.) The Imperator was touring the colonies and a small group of (mostly Cereuti) former members of the ruling class decided to attempt to take control of the government during the chaos that ensued on their side of the rift. Valiska escaped capture, but shortly thereafter, she also disappeared.

Qihanna Verraj', now a postdoctoral student, and her colleague Imrat Feijiura led Pines' students in occupying the Interdimensional Physics department and preventing both the invading demons from the rift and the mortal leaders of the uprising from getting their hands on the technologies being developed there--which were not intended as weapons, but could certainly have been used against them.

When the Doctors Pines returned with their great-nephew and great-niece, their soon-to-be third partner Severin, and a team of other displaced persons from all over the multiverse, Qihanna was instrumental in helping them put their lives (and their world) back together again, and found the pride of Courinna.

Valiska Courinna has often been heard to say that she couldn't have managed the chaos after the Weirdmageddon event without Qihanna Verraj'--but more importantly, she also couldn't manage without her now.
