Peridot is the birthstone for the month of August, which is the month my husband was born in. I was looking up info on the stone to see if I felt like I could be inspired, and found out that the stone is known as "the stone of compassion" and is believed to bring peace to relationships by balancing emotions and mind. It's also associated with strength and balance. These qualities are definitely things that match up with my husband, but also give me ideas separate from that for where this character could go!I'd like to make Peridot a glade telenine. I like that the glade pets match the colors of the stone, and the expression and appearance of the telenine fit well with the characteristics I'm shaping the character around.I'm honestly not sure where I'm going to go with the character, but felt like this was all too well aligned for me not to apply.I do have one story idea I've been working on that I was considering expanding to two pets, and I think could be an great fit for Peri and would pair him with another pet (nickname Santi). But I'm also thinking about a human character or a supernatural character, both shaped from the characteristics but the latter having powers related to them (whereas the first would have a story that highlighted the value of those characteristics in how they impact the world). Or maybe I'll be super cheesy and write a more personal story, like a relationship where one person struggles with feeling unstable and volatile as they try to heal from trauma and learn how to live with their various challenges (AuDHD, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) and the other is strong, stable, loving, and helps to balance the world for them (like my husband has for me).
