There are many decisions that I have made in my past that I regret, but now all I can do is strive forward and hopefully leave my troubled past behind. Most of my troubles began the day I was born, my father named me after the HAL 9000 from the movie 2001: A space odyssey, and if you've seen it the computer I'm named after goes nuts and is shutdown. My father divorced my mother and obviously got custody, he married another woman named Julie Danziger. My step mother had a child of her own named Emma, who I was very close to.

Emma soon developed an infatuation with me and we were rarely apart, everything seemed to be falling into place. But I made a huge mistake, my stepmother seduced me and we had a brief affair together, I was in my late teens during thins part of my life and when this mistake was made. My father learned of this in 1997, he decided to commit suicide and dragged Emma in with him. She expected me to save her, she counted on me and because I was having relations with her mother I never heard her cries for help. She hated me afterwards. So I did the only thing I could do at that time, I packed up my things and ran away from home.

I didn't see any of my family until several years later, I dropped out of school and continued my studies through internet based self study. Through this I secured acceptance into MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), I earned my PhD at a young age. I also earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Princeton University. I was actually scouted by the FBI after all this and joined the ERF (Engineering Research Facility), but that didn't last long I was caught monitoring and hacking into the central database. Ultimately I was forced out of the FBI, I was just too smart for my own good.

Eventually I was hired by ARMS Tech where I invented a series of new technology including my stealth camoflague, after this I soon became lead engineer on the Metal Gear REX project. I jumped at the chance to make this huge mecha-robot like I had seen and loved so much in the anime that I watch. I wasn't aware of it's true purpose, it was to be a mobile defense system but in reality it was a nuclear doomsday device. I was made aware of this by Solid Snake, and I admit it devistated me. I never wanted to create something like this, I wanted to lift the dark cloud from my family but instead I added more to it. After being rescued by Solid Snake, I moved to England where I thought I could finally find peace.

I heard that blueprints of REX were being sold on the black market, this was defiantly bad. So I knew something had to be done, a woman named Natasha and I set up the group called Philanthropy. Snake and I had devloped a very close relationhship and partnership, we vowed to destroy any metal gear that were being developed.During this time I stumbled upon information about a group called the Patriots, security was way too tight and I failed to find out anymore information about them.

In 2007 I acted as Snake's radio support during the time he infiltraited the dummy oil tanker the USS Discovery. We intended to expose the existence of Metal Gear RAY, it was supposedly being transported up the Hudson. This information was given to me by a very trusted source. Snake was to upload the photos via Codec but I discovered we were being monitored, so I had him upload them via a terminal on the carrier. I intended to distract Snake at the Verazanno bridge but the mission ended in disaster. Snake was nearly killed but I sailed over in a small boat to save him, we used Liquid Snakes body to fake Solid Snakes death. We went underground after this due to the fact that Snake was framed for causing the incident, but we continued out work out of the public eye.

Snake and I finally came out of hiding in 2009 after we learned that a new metal gear was being built at the Big Shell, without our knowledge Liquid was the one who sent the information in order to lure Snake to the Big Shell in order to free him. I also discovered that Emma had been involved in the development of the new metal gear. It was later on that we met Raiden and with his help we were able to rescue Emma, but she was later on killed by Vamp. We also later found out from a disk that all the Patriots has been dead over 100 years, all 12 of them. After this incident Snake and I once again went into hiding, that is until 2011 when Raiden rescued Sunny (the daughter of Olga), I then adopted her.

2014 we were out into action again when Roy Campbell contracted Old Snake to get rid of Liquid Ocelot. We both accepted though reluctantly to do this, I assisted Snake using the Metal Gear MK II. Our fist mission ended in failure in the middle east. When we arrived in and infiltrated South America and were able to get out Naomi Hunter, I piloted the helicopter which was able to get her, Snake and Raiden out. I became romantically involved with Naomi and was crushed when she left to go join Liquid and Vamp once again, she also revealed that she had terminal cancer and was only alive because of the life giving nanomachines that were inside her body. She injected herself with the nanomachine suppresing agent and ended her life. Snake nearly committed suicide because of all he had learned and done in his life but, he decided that wasn't the way to go I also decided to stay with Snake for the remainder of his life and chronicle it, he wanted to see what the new era would bring and so did I.
