I first found Iceilan when i was traveling in Arctic Frost. I had come to investigate the Polar Ice Field. I headed north past a cave, when all of a sudden I heard someone crying. "It seems to be coming from the cave." I said out loud. I slowly, carefully, and quietly went into the cave. I couldn't see anything, it was too dark. Then out of nowhere I saw glowing eyes blinking. I quick grabbed a flashlight out of my pack to see if the creature was friend or foe.He was a Common Celinox He looked scared, lost, hungry, and depressed. And on top of all that he was whimpering and backing into the corner of the cave. He was afraid of me and he tried to not make notice of himself (even though he knew I saw him). " Don't be afraid. What's the matter? Are you hurt? Please answer me. I just want to help you." I said in a calm voice. He limped over to me. " Is your paw broken?" Too shy to speak, he only nodded yes. " Oh my gosh, you poor thing!" I cried, at the same time getting out my first aid kit. I got out some bandages and wrapped them around his paw. Then i got out some cooked fish that I had brought as my lunch. I gave it to him, along with the container it was in. " Is that for me?" he questioned. I nodded. " I couldn't possibly eat this." he said. " Why, aren't you hungry?" I questioned him back. " Well yes, but.... but... I don't want to eat it because it's your lunch." he said (mean while his stomach growling) " No..." i paused. " It's our lunch." I continued, smiling. He also smiled, and we ate our lunch together. Later I took him to the vet, and he said I did the right thing putting the bandages on the Celinox. But he asked " What do you intend to call him?" I thought about the question for a while. " Iceilan" I said finally. And since then Iceilan has been on all my trips with me. He is as loyal as a dog. He is, has been, and always will be my pet......and my best friend.Iceilan is friendly, creative, loyal, protective of his friends and family, a great listener, and at times lazy, clumsy, and a pain in the neck. But he's always there for me when I need a friend. He says that I'm always there for him, too. :D
