Galactic KumosHe walked to the other side of the cages, and sat down in front of a cage. Wordlessly, I followed. The dog inside of the cage was a German Sheppard. It was pretty old, but I could sense the fear she had, and the hatred she had for this place. I frankly couldn’t blame her. Her markings were very pretty, especially on her face. Her eyes were what made her rare. They were a light gray. “That one is a beaut,†said the man, “The only reason why people wouldn’t take her was because she is blind in one eye.†“I want her,†I said automatically. He chuckled at me and said, “Okay miss, will do.†"Oh, what is her name?" I asked, "I don't see a nametag." "Her name is Katre."“What wonderful names,†I murmured; patting both of their heads once we had gotten both of them out. I knew the man wouldn’t bother putting them on leashes. I could tell they were loyal, and wouldn’t leave my side until they got to their new home. Once we got into the car, my step dad grinned at me. I couldn’t help but to grin back. “I think we need to go to the pet store,†He said, petting Katre on her head. I looked over and saw that Choku was beside my mother, getting petted as well. “No kidding,†I said smiling.
The pet shop was almost exactly like the old one I had used to go to in my old town, but twice as big. I didn’t mind too much though, I loved pet shops. To my disguised delight, Katre and Choku stayed with me the whole time, except once when a little boy started crying. The boy had scraped his knee, and Choku went over to him, wagging his tail and licked the little boys face. The little boy giggled and got back up. Choku was rewarded by picking out another squeaky chew toy. Man, how the both of them loved chew toys. We had a bit of trouble at the cash register. We couldn’t get one toy out of Katre’s mouth. It apparently made the person behind the cash register’s day because she couldn’t stop laughing. I think Katre held it in her mouth for that long because of that reason, because once the lady started to laugh, Katre dropped the toy.“Good girl,†I murmured to her fondly. Once we got home, it was around 8. I quickly got a shower and thankfully slipped into my bed. No sooner than I did, Choku and Katre jumped up there with me and slept on either side of me. They had at least one paw touching me, so they could tell whether I got up to leave or not. I had never felt so loved ever before.
Damn, I love dogs.
